Both of which have been pushed off first page because discussion has died a bit so close to release. Feel free to revive them with any speculation you'd like. We all enjoy it.

Yes, that's right, dance my puppet, dance! Do all the work I off-handedly mention!

(fail post)
Don't make me edit my post so that they are gone and then they will be in your post and therefore it's all on YOOOOU! BWAHAHA MY EVIL PLAN HAS COME TO COMPLETION!

The ARC weighs less than 3 pounds.

It's frustrating that these ARCs aren't arriving early. I mean, the book comes out in 11 days...you'd think the ARC would come early enough that you could finish it before the book's release.

Yes, yes it is. Yes, yes you would. I was hoping to finish it before release and put out a nice/horrible/indifferent (most likely nice) little review on Goodreads but the longer it takes to get here, the less chance of that happening. I thought that was the whole point of an ARC, to get it out so the average little people like myself can read and get an opinion out there that isn't a critic's POV.

did a reference track for my zip code and name. It showed a package due to arrive today that showed that weight.

Suppose it would help if I had a reference number or something huh. It's requiring it of me. We could compare info, if they are both 6.2 lbs, then it would definately be the ARC  :D

K so how much do these arc's weigh? I've got 3 packages on their way and UPS is showing a package coming today that weighs 6.2 lbs.  Seems to heavy for 4 dvds or an iphone. So i'm assuming it must be the ARC.  Although I'm not positive. Anyone have an idea of the approximate weight?

Edit:
Amazon shows the shipping weight for the release version at 3lbs. So does the ARC weigh more?

How did you find the 6.2 lb package without a tracking number? Just curious.

Exactly but how does Cobb know that his wife's totem is that weight and not a different weight? It might be a recreation from the beginning. Only she'd know which is why we can (if you want to) assume that it is fake.

Ohhh that sucks. How dare they order something while you wait for the magical book of magicy magicness. (yup, those 2 words are squiggly underlined, and I'm okay with that.)

My father once took a book I was desperately waiting for.. wrapped it in saran wrap, then put it in a zip lock back, then duck taped the whole thing, then repeated that step 3 times. THEN he put it on the roof of our apt outside our patio. What a great father. Took me an hour to remove it without damaging it.

And yes, I'm still waiting for mine as well. Irritating as heck.

Wow...cool Dad!  I know you were probably furious with him at the time, but looking back, he gave you an amazing memory!  AND he delayed the "post-partum" blues that come from finishing a great book by an hour.  LOL

To this day every time I get a book delivered I make sure I take both the saran wrap and duct tape and put it in my closet. Ya great memory, but i'm scarred for life now. LOL

I believe it's in New York.  I know the head quarters are based there.
Tor/Forge
175 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10010-7703
(212) 388-0100

Thanks for the info. Guess i'll be waiting longer then I assumed. Unless Tor has centers around the country.

I asked the peps at Tor what service they used and they had no idea what shipping method they use.   >:(  :'(
I'm assuming that they would use at least usps to send them, which would mean no more than a week to most areas, but who knows.

Media mail = USPS. But if the whole reason behind an ARC is to get it and read it and post reviews BEFORE release date, media mail would be out of the question for their purposes. You're probably right about the week time period. Shipped on friday.. should be getting mine any day now. Where are the TOR offices located?

Congrats all on winning one! Hopefully mine should arrive any day now.

Mine too! Hopefully. If they sent it media mail it could take up to a month to arrive! It could get delivered AFTER I buy one a copy in store!!

>:(  :D

(yes i'm conflicted emotions about my post)

Yea it should be, you can edit it you know.  :D

I sure hope somebody archived it, was a very creative exercise.

oh, i'm prefectly aware i can edit it, but when it comes down to "fix it" or "point out my stupidity" the latter is the harder choice, and yet i do it anyways! :D

Completely understandable, I do the same thing IRL. Yesterday I put a Poptart in the freezer and forgot about it. Then later I complained we were out of Poptarts. The first thing I did when I found my error was tell my girlfriend that I had lost a Poptart in the freezer.  :D
