Don't know if you've seen these yet. Looks like a miniatures game for kids. Some figures shoot projectiles  ;)

There's also a slew of other games coming out including another Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit DVD Edition and Risk.

A top Catholic cardinal has blasted The Da Vinci Code as a "gross and absurd" distortion of history and said Catholic bookstores should take the best-seller off their shelves because it is full of "cheap lies," the Reuters news service reported.

I guess they didn't get the memo this was a work of fiction?
You don't see anyone from the Illuminati speaking out about "Angels and Demons". just don't see them anyway I guess.

Movies and TV / Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I know some have read this so though it would be of interest:

New Line Cinema has set Oscar winner Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons) to adapt Susanna Clarke's best-selling supernatural novel Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell for the big screen, Variety reported. The book concerns a magician and his apprentice who use their powers in the war against Napoleon, but are eventually pitted against each other.

Rants and Stuff / Just how PC can we get?

According to this story Virginia's House of Delegates passed a bill Tuesday authorizing a $50 fine for anyone who displays his or her underpants in a "lewd or indecent manner.''
Now I think this is a ridiculous "fashion" as much as the next person, but really...a fine? If I stand out in the street in my boxers is that indecent exposure even though all the naughty bits are covered?
You don't hear anything about women's tops being too low cut or skirts too high.

Movies and TV / Tron Reloaded
« on: January 13, 2005, 01:10:53 PM »

Disney has hired screenwriters Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal to fashion a remake of Tron, the 1982 film about a computer programmer who gets sucked into the parallel world of a computer program, Variety reported.
The original movie, written and directed by Steven Lisberger, was considered ahead of its time. Klugman and Sterntha (Warrior) feel that the world has caught up with Lisberger's original concept, making it ripe for redo, the trade paper reported.
Sternthal told the trade paper that the new conceit is that the computer programmer gets trapped in a cyberworld, so that the film can utilize the Internet.
I guess my main question here is: WHY?!
I could understand (and have been waiting for) a sequel, but a complete remake?
Part of the cool factor for me was that the world wasn't caught up to its vision. Only the techy/geeky type people really got everything in it. Hopefully, it won't fall prey to the "Remake Curse" (ie: suck)
They should hire-on the people that worked on the Tron 2.0 game. That was one of the best times I've had playing a game. It was a good experience of going back to Tron's world.

Godzilla will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on Nov. 29, the Associated Press reported. The giant lizard will be honored as part of the world premiere of Godzilla Final Wars, the 28th movie in the franchise. The film marks 50 years since the genetically altered dinosaur emerged from the sea, the AP reported.

Featuring a showdown with 10 monsters, old and new, bashing through Paris, New York, Shanghai and Sydney, Godzilla Final Wars will also mark the last movie for the Toho Pictures creation.

No, not Christmas...I'm talking Halloween  ;D
That one time of the year when it's ok to let your dark side loose on the neighborhood.
Do you decorate? Dress up? Stay home? Go out? Turn off your lights and pretend to not be home?
