Stacer,... day aint over yet...
Do some stuff around the house for exercise tonight....
Work out hard for about 15 minutes and try to break a sweat.

Oh, believe me, I sweated. I went and helped my friend move tonight. Hence, unable to do aerobic exercise, but I got some stair-climbing and heavy lifting in!

I agree on the pop thing--I pretty much never drink it unless I'm out to eat with friends. Most of what I drink is milk and water, mainly lots of water, though sometimes I'll throw in orange juice (lots of sugar, I know, but sometimes your body just craves the nutrients).

My roommate got me a gift certificat to Lindt for my birthday, so I completely fell off the wagon when it comes to candy and sweets. I had been very good at healthier snacks (granola bars, fruit bars, applesauce) at work when I wanted them. So my goal this week is to stop with the chocolate again and be better able to avoid temptation at work (there's always something at the place we call "The Place Where Food Disappears").

A rule that has always worked for me with sweets is that I never buy them. If they're offered, I judiciously accept, and if I have a craving, I will make something, like cookies, and share with my roommates. That way, I have to find the energy to bake first, and it's not an instant gratification thing.

High Cacao Chocolate is better as a sweet nutritionwise anyway, 70% or more is great and starting to be more readily availible. Its rich enough that a piece or two can satisfy more than the high sugar "milk" chocolates...

but good on you for the moving bit.

Interestingly there is one soda a dieter can drink with less fear than any other. Diet Rite. A freinds father had a heart attack and his doctor recommended Diet Rite to him because is has no sugar, no caffine and no sodium. The only bad part is that the carbonated water will still rot your teeth, but hey its fizzy.

aren't some of you (HoM, MoD) ineligible to participate, as Utah is not in the East?

yeah, the east has challenged the west!

I'm the "anchor" which means I don't move. In fact, I should GAIN weight to make sure everyone doesn't move too far.

look, i've only got 3 months left to make my goal of having a heart attack by 30 (technically, I'm already 30, but I figure as long as I'm STILL 30, good enough). Are you trying to take that away from me?

Besides, they'll give me a heart attack anyway.

I wasn't able to finish a complete set of exercises yesterday, but I've improved today and already have 1 of 3 completed. It's easier to exercise because I get to be home all day, but it's harder because Mathias is unpredictable.

I'm motivated though. I really want to be able to fit into my jeans again. I'm resisting buying a larger pair in order to provider greater motivation. I think this board will help the most. It's nice to have someone to report to.

Funny, I've already started exercising. Sure, I'm in. I actually ran and then hit the gym yesterday. It's regrettable that I'm not sure of the distance that I go on the outdoor course I invented for myself. It's got hills and curves, though, so it's better than most places I could run in Orem.

So daily reports, right? Sounds good.

I walked the total of about two miles, maybe three. Hard to tell. But then, we had a pizza party at work today, so they kind of cancel each other out.

Ran 2.5 miles today, and tomorrow is my quasi- rest day, so only heavy lifting and going up and down stairs 300 times for me.

Breakfast was a 2 egg omlet with cheese

Lunch/ Dinner was a light french onion soup (about a cup) and a plate full of Baked Julliane Vegtables (mmm crunchy)
and green beans almondine.

Dinner A grilled chicken breast (skin off) and more green beans.

Snacks today are filled by a few unsalted peanuts and some summer sausage and cheese.

So I've cut my calorie intake in half to about 1800 calories a day and burn about 350 calories on the treadmill (which I hope to upgrade next week to twice that when I up my exercise time to a whole hour).

Drinks of the day: 2% milk,
Water 1.5 liters
Raspberry Cooler Crystal lite. 0 sugar 0 fat

Sugar free Jello has only 5 calories for a 1/4 cup sized portion (ten for real people) and makes a nice reward/dessert.

Tomorrows menu will be loaded with eggs

2 eggs over medium with fresh ground black pepper and a hunk of ham.

1 Frittata with fresh spinch and feta cheese (its basically a baked omlet) and steamed broccoli

3. A ham/lettuce wrap with onion, sprouts, chedder cheese and mushrooms ( a cheap way for me to aviod the whole sandwhiches are bad issue)

Celery is my snack of the day with lime Jello as a dessert.

Obviously I am on an elevated protein diet, .. to explain its a variation on the South Beach diet my friend Mike lost 30 pounds on. The diet allows carbs, but not for the first 2 weeks so your bodys metabloism can get a head start on burning bodyfat.
