12 Years and Jeffe is still matchmaking....

At least he has learned subtlety...  He used to just manuver the couple into a situation where you HAD to ask the other person out.

the only worthwile conversations are those done in person.

:'( That explains why you never call Sprig! But remember brother, while only worthwhile conversations may be done in person, good time wasting is done with meaningless drivel. And we are all here for some good time wasting! Or am I misinterperting the name? :P

It's nothing against any of you guys

I know that too man. And I and I bet the others will take no offence. Your guidance is helpful and meaningful to ensure this wonderful website maintains some decorum. If anyone complains (other than in spite) I for one would be happy to change the ways we waste time. While most of the post are the oneliners that annoy some posters (and if I weren't part of some of the conversations I too might be annoyed) we do try to limit it to this thread. For the random topics ranging from fish to video games. I found it far easier to talk about all the things this forum has to offer with these insane (kidding btw) ly wonderful people in one thread, verus having to jump from topic to topic to topic. There is still that to, becuase if the discussion gets good enough, then it merits putting it somewhere where everyone can read it so that they don't have to surf through pages of smileys and doh's to read it. Hey we even got a forum based RPG in becuase you suggested it you big hunk of gamin thing! (can you tell that I worked for the last 14 hours). I do agree with you sprig, and at the same time I don't. If these threads were anywhere else in the forum, then I would definetly say that's a no no, but in the rants? Anyway, I leave the fate of the SFNC in the hands of the Great Adminstrators that run this site for nerds like me. I realize that it is a privilege to be here and have hoped that I could add some meaning to some of the topics, but it is nice to just let the brain go numb and talk about absolutely nothing (or something) to people who share some intrests and friends as I do.

<Captain steps off and relinquishes his soap box to whoever may find use of it>

With all that being said and in all seriousness here, thank you for allowing us to have a place to meet new people and share ideas and most importantly waste some time! With that said, it is time to go to sleep and dream of the million stairs that I will have to walk tonight.

Oh and Sprig, the plant said no about the uranium. So i thought that I could send some lead, which is the daughter product of plutonium and uranium. Then using special alchemical powers from 3.5 DND we could transform it back into Plutonium, then all the evil plans can and will be put into motion mwa ha ha ha ha!

/me steps up to her own soapbox

I completely disagree, especially when distance is involved. It's certainly harder to maintain a friendship when you're 3000 miles away, but I do just that with a handful of friends by using email and the phone, and occasionally an IM. It takes too much energy to do it with too many people, but I don't really consider it a friendship unless there's communication involved. An active friendship, at least. If you're going to consider yourself close to someone, frequent communication is imperative.

It fluctuates, of course. With my sister, we can go a month without talking, but then call each other every day for a week when we've got something to say. With a couple old roommates, one or the other of us will call every week or two weeks. The longer I go without hearing from someone, though, the less that person is a part of my life. Which means I don't feel close to them.

(Just wanting to give SE more spare parts.)

Not to be a complete burro, but wow. That took all of 9-11 of these threads for that to happen? =P Heh, I guess it WAS meant to happen. Kind of surreal almost.

Jeffe wins!
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)
