To possess the DVD's and not watch them must require a huge amount of self-control, or a really nagging signifcant other or land lord.  Either way, I think the land lord or wife would have to wait on this one.  I have refrained from purchasing them so far as I have a paper due for law school, and I know I would spend the time watching the movies if I had them.  I guess I am too easily tempted by the dark side of the force.

well, i sure as heck don't want to be up till 2 am tomorrow night. Or any night. I have work weekdays, and on saturday I'm moving. To watch the movies I'd either have to watch them after doing packing for a couple hours (to keep on schedule) or before, which is going to make my nights too late. And I don't watn to watch them while packing, I want to be able to just sit down and watch.

I can respect that.

I guess your will is just stronger than mine, master.  How long will it take for me to learn that kind of discipline?

Definately kick things...especially law school text books, but only with steal-toe boots as those things are really heavy.

Steal-Toe boots would be a nasty cursed item to spring on your next D&D group.

haha that's another good one.

I have to say that the extras DVD is dissapointing, it's not that the stuff on there isn't good, which it is, but that there's praticly nothing on it.  Instead of giveing us an XBOX demo of battlefront add a few more hours of documentries.

The history of the lightsaber is probaly the best one, about 30 minutes of how the lightsabers worked (FX wise) and why the fight scenes where the way they were.  Like the fist move, where you had an old man and a realy fragile prop that would break realy easly if swung too fast.

Yeah I think GL definately help back on the extras. There's at least 3 behind the scenes TV shows I can recall that should have been on here since you can't readily get them on VHS anymore. Guess we'll have to wait for the next set in 2007 for the 30th anniversary.

I havent' had time to wade thru all the extras but did watch The Return of Darth Vader. Some great peeks at the Big Fight in there :)

Here are some funny "new footage" screencaps

sorry, had to change the "link" code to "url" so that it opened the new window, it was getting to me ~SE

dude those are HILARIOUS. I'll kill you for showing me the link while I was on the phone with a customer. I nearly laughed out loud at the shot where they're opening the smuggling containers.

Oh, and I think we'll get a 2005 boxed set. After all, Ep 3 will be on DVD for next christmas. We'll need a 6 movies set. THEN we'll get the 2007 boxed set. With three editions in as many years, no wonder he's skimping on special features. He's needs lots of material as it is.

I'm FINALLY watching these. Maybe it's just this different TV and the DVD, but it is SO much cleaner, b righter, and detailed than I ever remember the Video tapes being
I'm very pleased with the purchase. Now, if I could get my whole frickin' family to stop interrupting me so I can sit down and watch a whole movie.
