You may have convinced me to buy a second LOTR book. Curse you.

It actually is a cool book.  And yes, there were vampires and werewolves in Tolkien.  The difference from "normal" monster lore is that these creatures were dark spirits that inhabited the bodies of Men, Dwarves, and Elves rather than actual undead or lycanthropes.  As a matter of fact, one of the greatest heroines of the First Age was an elf woman who was often described as being a vampire, including the ability to turn into a bat, etc.

There are 3 other new books for the rpg that SHOULD have been out already, but aren't.  One is a Helm's Deep book, one is a book of magic, and one is (I think) the Rivendell book.  Hopefully they will all be out in time for Christmas.

I might go for a book of magic, but probably not a rivendell or a helm's deep.

you mean playing regularly? Or playing a non-modified LOTR game? OR a LOTR game that isn't constipated?

Well, my only concern is the same concern I've always had. We can't seem to meet with any predictable scheduling. Otherwise sounds like almost as much fun as a barrell of lemurs trained as Assassin Ninja Priests.

FYI, as you think of when to do this, Wednesday nights are out. I work 8-4:30 with no weekends. I arrive home at about 5:30pm. Sundays also will not work out.

Since i now have both the corebook and the atlas of middlearth (very impressive that last one) i reckon we should do a forum game.

That sounds interesting Entropy--and how did you do that btw?

Saint, when you say "with no weekends" do you mean you don't get Saturday and Sunday off from work, or that you can't rp on Saturday/Sunday?

An intriguing proposition. Who would moderate--perhaps a team of people? What era would we play in? What focus would we take?

It wasn't that. For a split second of network co-ordination, your nick on the board was "Irritated Elf Entropy" and on the summary under the Message box on the Post Reply page, it listed you as simply Entropy. I thought you were special, but alas, I was wrong.
