stupid divers
« on: March 23, 2004, 03:39:31 PM »
so yeah, this just off the radio.

Apparently, 6 British cave divers have been trapped by rising water in Mexico for six days. Nearly a week.

Local rescue teams reach them.

... and they say, "no thanks, we'll wait for the royal navy."

WTF?!

Saint, everytime I see the initials I say the words in my head. Do you think you could keep it to WT? Thanks.

Eh. They will be waiting a while. The royal navy can barely afford to give its ships fuel to sail around the UK, let alone to mexico. We no longer carry out live firing exercises. Can't afford the ammo.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

MoD, will do. Sorry. I think "what the frick" in my mind, but I know not everyone does. I will change. Does "Wth" mean "what the heck" to you or something else? (Ie, is that one safe to use?)

When I see that abbreviation, I certainly don't think 'frick.'  Of course, 'frick' and its cousins all annoy me.  Sometimes I think I would rather just hear the actual swear word.

Perhaps try "What the Fudge?". I find that to be the least offensive varient in polite company. What's more, it's easy to change to if you start to say something you shouldn't.  Although everyone can tell what you were going to say.

I find that it helps to replace such words with totally different words, such as "Son of a toaster!"

That particular one is very effective when yelling at computers, as well.

"shoot a pickle"

That's an interesting one.  Probably not a trouble to keep you from using it.

I usually like to abbreviate it "wtbutt" or something like that. And then there's my new abbreviation for OMGourd which is "omfrpg13." Either of those help you insanie's?

Nah, WTH means What the Hell, to me, and I have a propensity to say it outloud, thankfully not in front of my parents yet, so I would appreciate you not using that too. I prefer WT? because I think What the--? which is sufficient for me.
