She wrote back and told me that she hasn't gotten to it yet, and probably won't until mid or late summer when she gets an assistant. I was pretty steamed, but wrote back politely and said that I know they're just now starting to look at novels, and it's understandable that they don't have the processes in place to do it yet. And then I told I'd be sending it to WotC, and she wrote back and said that she assumed I'd been submitted it other places this whole time. Which made me pretty steamed again, but I'm willing to chalk it up, again, to her being relatively new to the world of original novel publishing.
And I agree with Ookla--it's really too far removed from what you currently do to really have a chance at Tokyopop.
So now I need to get it all cleaned up and submit it to WotC, which will be hard now that I've just been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel. I suppose that when my job, my pretend job, and both of my hobbies all involve keyboards, something like that was inevitable.
