My question would be whether or not TOR ever provides books sales, even to author.  Every year, or more often.  Would anyone know?  That way, all would be official.

I mean look at the success of The Historian.  Okay, much different kind of book.  They don't necessarily publish a lot of popular books but that occasional title . . . you know . . . becomes VERY popular.  Of course, Stacer would know a lot more about that than I would.

Don't do it!  Don't doo-OO-oo-OO-oo it.  Go with Harper Col-LINS!  Or Houghton.  The art is pinnacle!  But money is nice.  And Garth Nix is a very good author.  But there is enough YA fiction in the world, darn it!

Wow!  This forum folder has really taken off since the last time I left a reply.  

I was wondering.  A question for EUOL and anyone else who might know:  How much does your agent, Mr. Blimes, charge, both domestically and internationally?

I am really disappoint that TOR does not utilize the trade paperback more often.  Three releases of Elantris would give Brandon more attention and sales than two.  More book sales, more money in the pocket.  And not only because of book sales.  What is an author's earnings off of an eight dollar paperback?  Between thirty and forty cents?  When the author is likely to make close to ten percent with trade paperbacks.  Of course the publisher would probably make a little more too, which is all the more reason to make the books available in trade paperback a full year before mass market.

The idea of posting stories is great (something everyone else has said already), but you never know when you might need some of them for minor elements in your stories.  And you might not care if you use something you've already given away, either, as long as its not often.  I would be a bit nervous about giving so much away.  Of course that's just me.   I do enjoy reading them, though.

As for additional content, does anyone here read Neil Gaiman's blog?  I read his blog every chance I get and find it very interesting.  And something like that, EUOL, with your story ideas, your blog would still retain a strong element of uniqueness.
