Vader has to get some action in.  He may not kill any of the real big names, but I can definitely see him taking out some weak padawans.

I agree with Dex on this one. . .

If I even want to waste... I mean spend the money to rent it.

Thanks for the comment on the avatar sprig.  I have to admit I think it fits me.

I am hoping to be able to join in this endeavor, but it will depend on if I can get into lincoln on that day.  I imagine I should be able to since I will be out of school, but we'll have to see.

If I can I will try and see if I can get my dad's digital camcorder so that we can get video it for everybody.

I find this to be an interesting comparison to the Women's Clothing thread.

Well, I suppose I should state my opinion on the matter since I started the debate.

I feel that certain outfits are appropriate for certain venues and others are not.  If you choose to wear an outfit that is not appropriate for the venue, and you subsequently receive attention that you feel is undesireable, you have brought that undesireable attention upon yourself.  If you don't want to be, how did Moredew say it, "oogled,"  I think, then don't dress in a way that will provoke that response.  And this applies to all humans, both male and female.

Deep down this is all about choice.  One cannot make a choice knowing that will produce certain consequences, and then expect to not suffer those consequences.  Too bad so sad.  I certainly don't think that if I were to wander around the law school in nothing but a speedo that I would not get some negative attention, therefore I don't wander around the law school in a speedo.  (Note: sorry for those who just had that mental picture, and for those who don't know me, I am about 5'11" blonde hair, and weigh around 180 lbs.)  And even if I did choose to wander around in a speedo I certainly would not feel oppressed if someone chose to stare at me because I made the choice to invite them to stare at me.

Ok.  I agree that clothing of the nature we are discussing is definitely distracting.  However, what I would really like to know is:

"Why would a self-proclaimed 'femi-nazi,' who proclaims to be empowered and is trying to be seen as more than just a woman fighting her way into a, typically, man's profession, turn around, and the very next day call attention to the female parts of her anatomy in the very forum she previously stated she was trying to have not be regarded as a woman but as an 'eqaul?'"

Now I know this adds a bit of a twist to the discussion, but I wanted to work up to this.  So, there you go.  Any input?

Rants and Stuff / Women's Clothing Questions
« on: January 27, 2005, 03:25:00 PM »
As a man, I am often times confused when it comes to the choices that women make.  My most recent bout of confusion came only several moments ago.  I was sitting in the lounge preparing for my Constitutional Law class at 2 when I noticed a fellow student walk by wearing a pair of sweat pants with "UMKC LAW" emblazoned on her...ummm...how to say this without being offensive to our female members...ummm... rear end.  She then turned around and I became aware that she must really be a fan of the UMKC Kangaroos as her cut off baby-T that was 3 sizes too small had the UMKC mascot and "GO ROOS" emblazoned on the small amount of cloth that was covering her... umm... torso... yeah,  that's it.  Torso.

Anyway, as I sat there I realized that this might put me in a bad situation.  After all, most women don't like it when you stare at certain parts of their anatomy.

Then I began wondering why women wear clothing that inherently draws attention to specific parts of their bodies, and then complain that they are offended when the see men staring at those same parts of their bodies.

Can the women of the forum offer any info on this issue?

Can any one explain the difference between naked fairies and nude fairies, and why the naked fairies are so much cooler than the nude fairies?

Role-Playing Games / Re: In game ethical questions
« on: January 13, 2005, 03:06:32 PM »
It was a lot of fun, although the role-playing "suffered" a bit when everyone involved started cracking up when the GM began describing the actions of the cabby, and a brief interlude portraying an exhcange between Yoda and Windu regarding the impressions they were feeling regarding the actions of these Jedi.

Needless to say, it has become a classic moment in our gaming group that we have a good chuckle about still.

I felt it was a great battle of ethics.  While the Jedi's intentions were good, his actions, while in and of themselves were not evil, brought about an evil act.  What I found esecially challenging was when the Jedi, after "creating" the rampaging cabby, tried to prevent him from harming others, while simultaneously trying to avoid harming him as he was, by definition, an "innocent" acting under the influence of a "more dangerous and powerful entity;" aka a Jedi.

Wouldn't "Osama: Unrestricted" be somewhat inappropriate since he belongs to a variant of the muslim religion that is highly restricted?
