Hmm, I hadn't really put those things together, and I forgot the bit about leading the Stewards.  Too bad, that would've been an awesome twist. ;D

Brandon has said that when he gets back to Mistborn Marsh'll still be around.  It'll be interesting to see how much of an influence Sazed will have on this relic of a time with a more hostile Ruin consciousness.

What if it turned out that Hoid was EVIL!?  He's always been more passive than anything, thus leaving his actual morality a sort of unanswered question until WoK comes out.

When I said that Atium and Larasium were invented for Mistborn, I meant the books, not the people.

So all the obligators have taken Atium, yes?  Maybe that somewhat explains why things were so messed up in the government. :P

But, of the possibilities of places where Hemalurgic spikes can go, Sazed stated that the Lord Ruler only knew of three. Three! He spent the next thousand years trying to discover more, only to fail.
Not places to put spikes, but specific hemalurgic creations.
From HoA Q&A:
Another question, Brandon. Would the Three Metallic Arts operate in other worlds, or are they direct results of Ruin and Preservation and thus only operate in Scadriel?

Okay, back to answering spoilers.  (Or, in the case of this post, half-answering them.)

To use Feruchemy or Allomancy in almost every case, one must have the right spiritual and genetic codes, imprinted upon people during the creation of Scadrial by Ati and Leras.  To use Hemalurgy, one must first have someone with these right spiritual and genetic codse, then take the power from them.  Other people on other worlds are not going to simply discover the Three Metallic Arts by accident.

This seems to say that Hemalurgy would only work with Allomancy and Feruchemy.
Then how come there are the four metals (iron, tin, zinc, copper) that steal human attributes? (strength, senses, mental and emotional fortitude) Plus the seven metals that we don't even know what they do?

I define allomancy as mystical the same way Brandon Sanderson does, it is the power of Creation, something that is entirely mystical with either definition you are using.

But they were already Seers, they just didn't know it yet.
The people who passed the test and turned out to be Seers, yes.  He's talking about all the other people who did not pass.  Those people were just ordinary non-Allomancers, and they consumed a small amount of Atium with no apparent effect.
Oh, okay, I was misinterpreting the statement, thank you for clearing that up for me.

Well, we don't know if they were unaffected, they weren't mentioned for the simple fact that they weren't affected.  Perhaps if we took a closer look at these people we'd find some interesting goings-on farther down the line.

But it's the wrong power.  Preservation creating a Misting that can only use a power not of him?  Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Well, the biggest distinction between the God Metals (Atium and Lerasium) and the others is not only their source, but also that Atium and Lerasium were invented solely for Mistborn.
But you missed one thing - ANYBODY can burn Larasium.

A logical question, then, would be what would happen if a non-Allomancer ate atium much in the same manner that someone takes lerasium.

This happened on a regular basis.  That's how they discovered Seers.

But they were already Allomancers, Seers, and the Atium simply brought that fact to light.

They needed to check if somebody's is a Seer or not, so most people who were eating it were just normal people.
But they were already Seers, they just didn't know it yet.

Wow, that's positively vivid.  No wonder TLR had to make all the living things tougher.

But the thing is that the power of Ruin may be tied to a magic system, but Hemalurgy doesn't naturally occur like Allomancy does.  Lerasium, however, is.  What Lerasium does is significantly increase the amount of Preservation present in a person.  If Atium does the same for Ruin, it'd be more likely to drive them insane then give them any magical power.

Or they could cancel each other out, leaving Sazed's mind entirely unaffected.

But the fact that it was stolen doesn't change it's power itself, does it? If it would, then Atium would be totally useless for Ruin.
But, if you think about it, it shouldn't be a problem. Allomancy doesn't use the power of Preservation, but instead it's just created by it. Preservation's and Ruin's power doesn't really collide then - you just burn the metal and release the power kept in it. Be it any kind of power.

Allomancy is described in the books as fueled by Preservation's body. I'm not sure where you get that it doesn't use the power of Preservation- it's just an up-front use.
Allomancy is of Preservation, but Atium is concentrated Ruin.  A Mistborn is able to use Atium because they can use every metal, but what I'm pointing out is that why would it work that Preservation's power create the ability to only use a metal that is distinctly not of Preservation?

What I would like to know is if someone who is both an allomancer and an awakener would have their allomantic strength boosted by having a large amount of breaths.  This comes from the idea that having more of preservation's power is what determines how strong an allomancer you are, would this work with the power of endowment (if that is exactly what breaths are)?  Another thing that I think supports this is the existence of Atium mistings, who are gifted via preservation with the ability to only use ruin's power could mean that shard power is shard power and can be interpreted through all magic systems.  Maybe.

Perhaps it's for the same reason that Allomantic pulling and pushing doesn't work on people, because it isn't strong enough.  TLR was able to push people because his Allomancy was strong enough to push on the metals in their blood, but there might be another reason.  The Cognitive and Spiritual aspects of a sentient being might be enough to counteract specific sorts of magical attack on a physical level.  Perhaps, since Nightblood being sentient gives it stronger Cognitive and Spiritual existence, it puts it on the same level as a person when it comes to Allomantic resistance.  The question that should be asked is whether or not TLR would be able to push on it.

Sorry, I'm kind of scrambling at fragmented ideas here, so feel free to rip it to pieces, I can take it.

Looking back just a bit, Chapter Seventy's annotation (The Reason for the Mistsickness) says:
Quote
Suffice it to say that there are people who have Snapped because of intense joy or other emotions. It just doesn't happen as frequently and is more difficult to control.

Anyone think in the future trilogies there will be Rioters testing the population trying to Snap them? Maybe Nicrosil-enhanced Rioters, but still, just a quick Rioting of joy and then you're done. Something official, where people make an appointment and visit a "doctors" office for the test, not Allomancers randomly targeting people on the streets. Seems like a much more civilized way than beating your kids. ;D
Before I read that I had the idea that they might use a series of injections to induce extreme pain without being lethal.  I suppose that this makes more sense, though.

Oh, question!  Could a Rioter control physical pain, since it's just a mental thing?  And, conversely, could a Soother reduce pain?
