Music / Re: What are you Listening to?
« on: February 29, 2008, 08:48:48 PM »
On a serious metal kick as of right now....

As I Lay Dying
All That Remains
Killswitch Engage

Although in between those three I've been listening to Muse which really doesn't fit.....

Woah, you have good taste... and oddly I've been really into both Muse and As I Lay Dying recently...

Still, I'd love to see a version written by the same guy who adapted Northanger Abbey.

Sigyn is correct. Andrew Davies adapted both the Colin Firth version of P & P, and this most recent adaptation of Northanger Abbey.

This sounds like fun... I'm always really bad at this stuff though, because I have a hard time separating who I want to win, and who I think will actually win. But here goes:

Best Picture: No Country for Old Men

Best Director: There Will Be Blood

Best Actor: Daniel Day Lewis

Best Actress: Marion Cotillard

Best Supporting Actor: Casey Affleck

Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett

Art Direction: Atonement

Cinematography: No Country for Old Men

Adapted Screenplay: No Country for Old Men

Original Screenplay: Juno

lol, that's not surprising.... but Zane's so cool we just don't care.  ;D

I think I must be going crazy too (or at least reached insane fan status) because I had a dream last night that Brandon Sanderson died and no one ever got to read the third book of Mistborn and once again book 12 of Wheel of Time didn't get written.

Many kudos to Iahawki99!

So, are we the only members of the Zaniacs? I feel we have the potential to recruit a large following.

Oooh, both of those are good names.... Somehow Zaniacs seems more appropriate, if you know what I mean....

I vote we start an official Zane fan club. We can bake cookies and talk about what we like best about him.  ;D

1. What did you want to be when you were little?

A Palaeontologist or Archaeologist.

2. What do you want to be? (Doesn't have to be what you're doing right now)

A Graphic Novelist among some other diversions (including freelance designer/illustrator and a concept artist etc, and hopefully volunteer in some way to look after the fuzzy and fluffy creatures of the world ... and promote love for sharks and river dolphins too...)

"It's not a comic book, it's a graphic novel..." Heh... I took a graphic novel course at school last semester. It was really cool. Hope you get to do that someday.

I've also noticed that we have a lot of people here who wanted to be paleontologists or archaeologists... strange...

1. When I was little, I was torn between being an accountant or a librarian.

2. At the moment, I want to be paid for reading books the rest of my life.

3. I'm getting a double major in history and English in college. Lots of options with that one.

4. Might actually end of being a librarian. But I'm going to go to grad school ad get my PhD in history. I'm thinking about living in a dusty archive for the rest of my life.

Valentine's Day is more commercial that Christmas.

Just a thought.

Like a little person getting drunk faster when drinking?

Yeah, exactly like that, a lower volume of alchohol is necessary to be drunk for smaller people, so - therefore maybe the metals of mistings of lesser size would last longer, because they needed to burn less of it to reap its benefit, than physically larger mistings?

I mean, I mainly raised this point when it occured to me that in situations involving Vin and another mistborn (or hey, a misting able to use atium...) where each were using a same sized portion of atium -- her supply might out last theirs.

Plus, by that logic she'd be cheaper to run in the long term.
Like... 'Economies of (small) Scale'
 ;D

Hey, I never thought about that... I bet you're right. Gosh some of you guys are so smart... I just sit there reading and grinning while obviously you guys are thinking too.  ;D

That is generally what I tell my wife when we run into any Mistborn anyways. "Always go through the pockets after you've killed them" lol. Personally I don't think he is dead, probably because I liked his character a great deal lol.

Sadly, I think he is dead, that poor crazy cutie~.  ???

(ever so in mourning).

 :'(

Ditto.... Zane rocked my socks.  :'( (I love it when I can love the bad guy.)

I'd definitely be a Tineye. Enhanced senses... way cool. I agree that being a Thug probably has the most benefits, but only if you get in fights a lot.  ;D

I agree that they all seem reasonable. I like the $3 personalized idea best though.

p.s.

Thanks for even doing this! It's great for those of use who would like a signed copy but can't afford to buy the book all over again.

Hey, thanks for mentioning the pronunciation of Sazed. I had a big debate about that with my sister. Now I can prove I was right....  ;D
