We just got finished with our Christmas Eve dinner: a huge pork roast, rosemary potatoes, peas, and biscuits. Not exactly traditional, but very tasty.

My bro made stir fry. mmmmm. Best thing is that -I- didn't have to cook!

we had we had gremres with bannock and pommegranit pie
and since i doubt you know what gremres is...it's kind of like a thick fish stew made with potatoes, cream, corn, salmon, crab, catfish, lamb, onions, leeks, several typs of bean, and a few local( as in kairegaine not santa barbara) vegetables with hard to pronounce names
and bannock is a large soft bread loaf made with several different typse of wheat(perfect for dipping) and I'm pretty sure the pommegranite pie is self explanatory.

Spriggan picked-up a cream pufff for me from a french bakery. It was great, but it will leave me on a sugar rush for a few days.

I made a simple curry that was pretty good last night, and now have leftovers for a few days.

For the record, the Asian Market near BYU in Provo is Laotian, and because Laotian cooking is very similar to Thai (as they're right next door), they have pretty much anything you'd want at a Thai market.  This makes me happy; sometimes I really have to hunt to find lime leaves.

I had a Safeway blueberry muffin for breakfast. Not as good as the mega-huge costco muffins, but still.

Also, Jeffe dropped by for a surprise visit Saturday with some good food. Whole foods ham sammich. Also, Pringles of the Chili flavor. mm.... goood... and you keep belching them up all day!. Also, the Paul Newman Oreo rip off, but they were better than oreos.
And last, but definitely not least, The Bavarian variety of Virgil's root beer. It has what the standard variety lacks.

I made calzones on Saturday, which did not work very well, but then I made pizza yesterday and it worked very well indeed. Yay for pizza!

Borsch.

My sister made it from the same recipe Czar Nicholas II's head chef used. Except I think she subsituted "the blood of your enemies" with ketchup.

It was good.

I made some Mexican Meatloaf the other night which was really, really good.  Even better, it was simple to make.  Kim and I have been trying a lot of new recipes on one another so I've been learning all kinds of cooking secrets that I didn't know!

I really wish my husband was into that. When I don't feel like cooking and I get him to actually make me something, he considers Hamburger Helper too difficult and time consuming (he's made it a few times in our years of marriage, but usually isn't willing to go through the trouble). It's annoying that if I want something to eat it's always up to me to do it. Although on the plus, he is always very grateful for me cooking for him and does not take it for granted. I really appreciate that.

Guys who cook are awesome! (Even if only sometimes.)
