I thought there had been some other mention of Gavilar learning to read passages from the book on his own, from Dalinar or Navani. Could be wrong, though.
No, AFAIK that was a misconception of Dalinar's beacause Szeth had written the meassage on the wall in the first person which led Dalinar to assume that he (Gavilar) had written it himself.

:D
Sadeas hasn't read it, though he seems to be considering it. Refer to the very end of chapter 58.

I thought he had at least heard excerpts of them with Dalinar. I doubt his heard the whole thing, but with Sadeas you never know...

Hmmm, interesting. I must have missed that, so Szeth actually wrote it? I keep hoping he'll find redemption and be more of a "good guy", but there seems to be enough hints that it could happen.

Oh, and Teft's mother has read it :D

At least, that sounds like The Way of Kings to me.

I'm pretty sure that Sadeas has also listened to part or all of it.

Yeah, Sadeas has heard Dalinar repeat whole sections, and even asked to get a copy of it because 'it might entertain [him] to hear more of its little stories'. A few chapters later he bashes heavily on the book, so i don't think he ever got around to all of it. That's why I'd leave him off the list of readers.

Except that Sadeas is really good at hiding the truth.

Teft has almost certainly heard at least parts of it as his parents were both part of that cult.

So, I'm harboring a theory that there's more to the book than Dalinar knows.  In his visions he's told to "read" the book whereas he's only had it read aloud.  It's mentioned in one of the Jasnah chapters that women often annotate in the margins in the book sections that aren't meant to be read.  Granted the book was probably transcribed by a man originally, but there may be info that Dalinar is missing.

However, you would think that if there were some obscure reference, and notes in the margins said, "This most likely means X," the woman reading the book would say, "Oh, by the way, that confusing sentence that made no sense? It most likely means X." But I suppose it's feasible that Dalinar's missing something.

I think it more likely, however, that Dalinar just isn't understanding everything that's been read to him.

Well I suspect it would depend on the woman doing the reading. Some might not bother.  :P
