Justin Bieber for Spook.  <gag> I can't believe I even got it down without losing my dinner.

You realize we are now going to have to sacrifice you atop a stack of those no good Brandon Sanderson novels, that are entirely too long, for your insolence.

You already sacrificed a Brandon Sanderson novel, Miyabi, no complaining ;)

lol.  That I did.  That I did. This time however, we are not sacrificing a novel, we are sacrificing a person.

We should ram paperbacks down his throat until he's dead.  If he has words like that, we'll give him new ones, till there' s no room for the bad ones anymore...
I did chuckle however, before I became horribly offended. ;)

I agree.

On a more serious note, who to play Spook, esepecially if they do a trilogy.  They need someone who is able to show all that development, probably some one who will actually grow up during the filming.
That's the nice thing about having a year between each book, and each book being a year long, if they do all three, they probably won't have to worry about actors ageing out.

(hard to type using itouch)

I had thought it would be fun to audition for this one. I am old now but Hollywood tends to overlook a couple years. I seemed to remember
Spook being ektomorphic and about 6'3. Not like it will happen but a man can dream. As long as no people from twilight(ruin) get the part
of Spook I'll be happy. I had thought about auditioning for the part of sokka in airbender and then twilight people got it and I wanted to yell. Movie still has me pumped though. Anyway when I can I'll post a headshot to compare with Spook.

ALright, here we go. I actually thought of all of these the first time I read the book. Now I shall place them here.

so the format I'm using here is:

Character Name - Actor (Other performances)

Vin - Summer Glau (River Tam in Firefly, Cameron Phillips in the Sarah Conner Chronicles)
Kelsier - Robert Downey Jr. (Sherlock Holmes, Tony Stark/Iron Man, etc.)
Sazed - Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (Who I know personally and actually just told today to look into this role) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0991810/
Dockson - Hugh Laurie (AKA House, but with his Brittish accent)
Breeze - Eddie Izzard (Dressed as a man)
Ham - Gerard Butler (Leonidas from 300, dude from Gamer)
Spook - Anton Yelchin (Chekov in the new Star Trek)
Clubs - Rhys Davies (Gimli, other cranky old men)
Elend - Ryan Reynolds (...you know what? You'd know him if you saw him.)
The Lord Ruler - (Tentatively) Matt Damon (Bourne, other dudes)
and obviously others

well here are the others I nailed down:

Marsh - Hugh Jackman (Wolverine)
Yeden - Steve Coogan (Dana Marschz in Hamlet 2, Damien Cockburn in Tropic Thunder)
Shan Elariel - First reaction is Anne Hathaway (White Queen in Alice in Wonderland, Mia in the Princess Diaries) but this one's also tentative.

Anyways, that's what I've got. Whatchu guys think?

How would he look as a blond I wonder....
Great choice though, and Robert Downey Jr. and him could even play convincing brothers I think.
I like Ryan Reynolds for Elend, but he seems too old.
I also vote Anne Hathaway for Shan, either that, or for Mare in the flashbacks.

Oh, there were a couple others from later books...

Tyndwil - Catharine Zeta-Jones

Ashweather Cett - Sean Connery (Charismatic with a dirty mouth? come on.)

Anybody have any ideas for Zane? because the best I could do was Vin Diesel...and that's just a terrible idea.

absolutely awful.

ALSO: A blonde Robert Downey Jr? Yes sir.

I love the idea of Eddie Izzard as Breeze.  and Anton Yelchin could be good as Spook, not my 1st choice, but the best I have heard so far.

I'd like to revise my earlier assessment. Nathan Fillion is out, Robert Downey Jr. is in. He'll nail the hardness, yet still pull off Kelsier's defiant smile.

It's perfect.
