Anyone out there a Buddhist...?
« on: July 31, 2004, 02:16:58 AM »
I've been contemplating Buddhism but I havnt taken the leap becuase I still dont feel I have enough knowlege on the subject. So if anyone is in practicing or knows anything, passing it on would be greatly appreciated.

YS, (which I hereby decree shall be your abbreviation, unless someone has already decreed a better one), very shortly you'll realise how amusing it is to ask that question here. I'm about the most buddhist person here, actually, and I'm not exactly very buddhist - although I *do* study Shorinji Kempo, a Martial Art with a strong congo zen backing.

The vast majority of board members are Mormons here. The rest are either 'all of the above' - thats JP, master of the mix and match religion - or just plain atheist. I like to remain out of any of those camps since I can then make fun of everyone. Oh and one of the noobs is a wiccan or something.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I have a very good friend who is Mormon. She comes from a big family and everyone goes to BYU. So I understand it and thats cool. I havnt been religious ever in my life, so I was just feeling Buddhism out. Thanks for the replies though.

I like to keep my options open. Maybe I wanna go worship Shub Niggurath someday.
