Monday through Thursday we're "business casual", and on Fridays we're regular casual.  And everything is always dirty because the forklift guys, covered in sawdust, wander in and sit on our desks.

i love casual wear! I love that businesses realize you work better in comfortable clothing than you do all dressed up.

My last few employers have been casual dress, and it's one of the few things that keeps me from wigging out and buying a sniper rifle.

Speaking of which, right now I'm in shorts and a t-shirt, sitting at my desk with bare feet. I also have a flannel shirt on because I sit under an A/C vent. But man, casual is the only way to go.

We're business casual, for the most part, but that includes jeans if they're not torn or whatever. Lately I've been trying to wear nicer clothes than jeans because it just looks more professional, but it's nice to be able to wear jeans if I'm going somewhere after work, or if I just feel like it. But my shirts are the same whether I'm wearing capris or jeans--a bit nicer, either button-up or knit, just not T-shirts. I rarely wear skirts (doesn't work for riding the bike).

I think in a way girls have it easier than guys because we have such a range of choices for business casual shirts, while for guys it's always that button-up cotton deal, whether it's a print or solid color.

screw that. If I have to wear a tie, I wear silk, baby!

Ok, that's not true. My only silk shirt falls firmly into the category of casual. And it's sad that silk/cotton/polyester is our only real choice.

But they don't wear ties. Just the shirts. At least that's how it works round here. No tie=business casual, I guess.

Scream "FIRE! EVERYONE RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" and report the pants-wearing situation.

So, back to this girl I work with:  One of the truck dispatchers just gave her the compliment "You have to run around in the shower just to get wet."

Presumably, he was referring to the fact that she's very skinny.  Still, it makes you wonder what was going through his head to make him say it.

Also, how do you respond to something like that?  She just smiled and turned red.

maybe he thinks that's what she has to do and that's why her hair is icky.

reaction depends on how skinny you think is attractive. That skinny i find a bit unattractive. I like slim, but not... a pile of sticks.

She's not Callista Flockhart Skinny--she's just in really good shape.  Still, you're right: that would explain the unwashed hair.

then the trucker is probably trying to employ humor but doesn't know much about it. He's just heard of it in passing.

You know, guys like him don't bother me nearly as much as the dirty-talking, behind-her-back truck drivers.  We recently had another good-looking girl quit, and several of the truck drivers come in and complain she's gone, saying that it gave them some nice "eye candy" while they were waiting--one said that it gave him something to "imagine".  Those are the guys that really irk me.
