Is there any way to mark a topic so you no longer get notifications when a new reply is posted?

Miyabi:
You just click the notify button again on that topic and it will ask if you want to disable it.

Shaggy:
Ohh thanks.

Shaggy:
It's not working.

Miyabi:
Are you sure you did it right?

Make sure when you click it the pop-up says "Are you sure you want to disable notifications?".  That's what it should say.
