Hmm…I still disagree.

As a kind of "rebuttal"…why do you say that if he wasn't vying for attention, he would have chosen to run for prom king?

But I think we were talking about vying for more than the normal amount of attention–as in, outside of the town/city attention.

Well he shouldn't be surprised that it has grabbed some more attention then just within that school. Though the only place I've heard of it is here. So it's not National news or anything like that. It's not really that big a deal since as pointed out it's just a popularity contest to be called School Queen or King for a year.
