Heh. Yeah, a bit over four years for me, but there's a lot of dead time in there, not to mention the fact that I rewrote the first three chapters several times while trying to figure out what my actual, yanno, story was.

I'll be rather more on task with the next one. ;)

ETA: In the interests of honesty, I should probably add that it's not complete yet, but it certainly will be. (By no later than the middle of next week, say, or I'm going to throw myself out of a window.)

Ok, wow, that makes me feel a bit better- no offense- knowing you both took that much time to finish.  Last year was my first year to participate, so now I don't feel so bad about my work ethic (though it is pretty crappy right now). :)

Heh. It takes some people longer. My professor says it took her seven years to write her novel Anomaly. (Which, by the way, is fantastic and you should all read it.)

Yeah, I'm gonna attempt again. I've got some free time on my hands, so why not use it for something as fun as writing? You know, the kind of fun that induces scatterbrain syndrome and mental breakdowns  :)

I'm getting ready to do this. again.

Got my outline started. (I'm one of those that needs an outline if I'm going to make the deadline.)

Hoping to use it to actually finish the book I started last NaNoWriMo.  I started without an outline and no clear idea of what it was about beyond "This is the protagonist, this is what he has to do, and this is how it ends."  So I reached the deadline at either a third of the way through or the halfway point- I'm still not sure exactly which.  Since then I've been working on an actual outline though, so maybe I'll get it finished.  It still qualifies, since I'm only counting what I will write in the month of November, not what's already written. :)

I think I've got two different plots well enough outlined that I can do them for nano this year.  I'm also trying to push a couple of half hearted writers into doing a mini word war with me to try and help them be motivated.  But you can definatly count me in and expect to see a shiny little "2009" award to join my current one.  :D
"The custom of royalty in referring to oneself is to naturally employ the royal 'we'.  We are very happy, we are very sad, we are bored and suffer from ennui.  For a royal prince there's no such word as 'me', It's always 'we'.  So rightfully I should be two or three, don't you agree?"

I'm hoping to get my first trophy this year. Last year was... highly unsuccessful.

I'm thinking about it. I haven't done it before and it sounds like fun, but I am so close to finishing my current WIP and would hate to abondon it before 'finishing' the first draft. I do have another book that I am brainstorming though, so if all the stars align and I have my first book done, maybe.... :-\

You could also just work on your current draft?

Unless you don't think it has 50,000 words left, I suppose...

No, I don't think it does. I think I'll be pulling teeth just to get 20,000-30,000 more words into it at this point.
