It is ridiculously hard to find hard numbers for things. If anyone ever tells you that we've entered a golden information age, that person is lying.

Technically those errors are arithmatic or however you spell elementary school math.

Did our seminar presentation today. For one thing, preparing for it was a long, horrible process. Also, nobody laughed at our jokes. =( Not one friggin' person.

I would be much happier if Windows 7 would actually boot. I'm blaming it on Windows Update.

I would be happy if I didn't keep making stupid literary mistakes... and if sortitus would stop laughing at them.  :P

I can solve the problem on my math project, which involves using complex (wee, imaginary numbers!) arithmetic. I showed my answer works, even though the coefficients on my particular solution are god-awful.

However. When I attempt to do the problem with the normal method of undetermined coefficients--you know, using real numbers--I get a particular solution which does not solve the differential equation. At all. Not even close.

In review: the more complicated mathematics gives me the right answer, but the normal math gives me the wrong one. ...Hard is easy, easy is hard. Crazy, isn't it?

I looked at my midterm grades last night....And they make me very unhappy. My GPA is screwed.

EDIT: Okay, so the main class I was worried about it turns out I shouldn't be as worried about. I think I may be able to pull off a fairly decent grade after all.

However, it's starting to get cold here. And I thought I was developing a cough. Now I'm convinced it's not a cough. My bronchitis is coming back. I can feel the inflammation in the back of my throat. My coughing is getting worse. My breathing is getting louder....And it's only going to get worse.

My aunt passed away two days ago after a long struggle with cancer. I didn't know her well at all, but I'm still disappointed that I won't be able to attend the funeral.

Ah, Silk, that sucks. Similar thing almost happened for me when my grandpa died a couple years ago...Is school what's going to keep you away, distance, or something else?

School, distance, cost.

My mother's actually already down there, but because this was so last minute (for us, that is--we found out last evening, and the funeral is tomorrow) driving down there is out of the question. (I'm pulling this number out of the air, but as a guesstimate let's call it, oh, a 12-15 hour drive.) She was able to catch a last minute flight this morning, but couldn't've afforded a ticket for me also (netiher could I). Also, I had to write a midterm this afternoon, and her flight left before my exam. So. Didn't really work.  It's sad.

...

While I'm whining about all the places I couldn't be this weekend because of school/distance/cost, would you people at World Fantasy STOP HAVING FUN already? Jeez.

(There. Behold that wonderful segue into rather less morbid material!)

Wow, Silk, that does suck.  I had to miss both my grandfathers funerals due to distance and financial issues a while back.

Also, I have bruised and extremely sore knees, and my brain refuses to let go of the story in my head so I can get it on the page. :P

This is so not bronchitis. Yet it's not quite a cold either....Coughing, I hate. Also, I'm running out of cough drops. And my throat is dead.

Basically, I hate being sick. That is all.

I feel your pain, Wilson. I'm also sick. AGAIN. I think my cold/pneumonia/swine flu/bronchitis/whatever-it-was ::) was gone for all of two weeks and now I'm coughing and hacking again.

I can handle being sick again, I suppose. But if my singing voice is ruined for another month because of it, I'm going to be CHOKED.
