I spent today taking care of academic problems. I changed my minor, and by changing it (it was a pretty simply change, all things considered) I bumped my grad date back a semester, something I really can't afford to do.

Also, BYU-I's trying to get rid of the German program (something about German being a dead language and one of the officials not really liking it, so that merits the cutting of the whole program...::)). As it's the foreign language I'm taking for my required 11 foreign language credits to graduate, I'm really not thrilled about this decision. Especially as it also is going to bump my grad date back even further.

I talked to professor about this (I tried to talk to my advisor but she's not on campus) and she told me that I might be able to waive a course for my minor problem, and if I explain my whole problem to the lady in the College of Language and Letters, I might even be able to waive the other credits I'm deficient in for foreign language (I've taken semesters in each Japanese, ASL, Spanish, and German over the last 4 years). Hopefully, both of these will work. If so, that makes the next 2 semesters CRAZY busy, but at least I'll be graduating next July. Which was my original goal....

Still, though. German, a dead language? What are these people ON?

German is a dead language? Since when?

There is a depressing lack of information on the Internets about cryovolcanoes.

German is a dead language? Since when?

My thoughts exactly. It may be a "dead language" to southeastern Idahoans, but if what we're judging languages on is the location of the school, then why the heck isn't there a problem with the Russian program?

Inconsistent, I say. If they get rid of German, they should cut Russian.....And Mandarin Chinese while they're at it (although that's actually a useful language, just not around here...).

And why are you researching cryovolcanoes?

You're in the minority there Ook. General consensus on the Intarwebs (with which I agree) is that Apple's implementation of tabs-on-top sucked. They should just copy Chrome and have done.

Speaking of which, I fully intend to give Chrome a run when it comes out (it's my favorite browser on Windows, though that's not saying much).

Wilson: Because I needed a volcano for a short story setting, and having it be an ice volcano seemed too cool to pass up.

ryos, there are a lot of people who like it (at least on macs—the comment thread on TUAW is almost all toptabbers) and wish it were at least an option.

I just don't like wasted space. When there are only two or so tabs open, each window now has TWO huge grey empty bars in it (title bar and tab bar). Huge waste of space.

I hope you don't have your dock on the bottom then. ;)

Dock is hidden. It only appears when I need it.

But the Mac dock is only fun if you have animated widgets in it that work while your off using something else and expand when you roll over.

Current source of grumpiness: I'm an idiot. I apparently thought this was the These Stupid Titles thread.

Oops.

Finals week, and the crunch to finish up all the projects and assignments our professors think we need. I spent eight hours in a lab yesterday, working on a project with a teammate. Ugh.

Ryos: Fun. That sounds like... my entire year this year.

People. People irritate the ... living daylights... out of me.

Monday is taking WAY too long to get here....I am now completely addicted to Girl Genius and I am convinced the updates are too infrequent....even if they are every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday....I need more...*tear*
