LOL! That was good. You had me at the beginning, but then I realized that there was no way that this was for real when I saw that you mentioned me. Plus it was April Fools, so...I put 2 and 2 together eventually.( took awhile though, I'm not too good at math)

Well played sir, well played.

A little late to the party, I'm afraid...

But - well played, sir! This is hilarious.

If, you know, kinda cruel. XP

You actually really had me going for a second. I was almost ready to go ask my mom for permission.  :P

Shaggy how old are you.  I'm just tryingto reconcile asking [elided]  for permission against submitting a work for publication. . .

Well, it wasn't exactly for publication...

I think anyone under eighteen would have to have permission from a parent or guardian, if not to submit for publication, then to actually sign a contract with an agent or a publishing house. I could be wrong on that one, though...

PS: Shaggy, don't say stuff like that. You'll encourage him!

I'm [edited for safety purposes]. Although I don't think I'm supposed to say that on the Internet. *shrug* whatever

Yeah,

Probably better to keep that to yourself, but you brought up asking [elided and altered] permission in a couple of places and it had me wondering.  Probably shouldn't bring that up either, because it's sort of a red flag statement.

@silk good point.  I'd sort of figured that out.  I was just boggling about being under eighteen and wanting to submit books to TOR.

Good idea! :)

Anyway, don't let what I said discourage from writing.  It's just not common for younger people ;) to be serious enough to think much about trying to get published.  It struck me as interesting that's all.

Getting my writing published someday is more of an idle fancy to me than a real thought.

I dunno, I was fairly young when I started thinking of getting published. Thirteenish, maybe even a little younger. I just haven't grown out of it yet. ;)

Don't let that stop you from trying. Send your stuff into Writers of the Future, etc and hope for the best.

Hell, I'm sure all of the publishers out there would love to discover the next Christopher Paloni.
