Goodreads.com
« on: February 18, 2009, 03:11:25 AM »
I just stumbled onto a website called www.Goodreads.com. Its a site that allows you to catalog and categorize all of your books while rating and reviewing them. To me this was very exciting as I find that I cant remember all the books i've read. Now I have them all by genre and I have a list of books in my wish list that I found based on the ratings and reviews of others. Just wanted to put it out there for everyone and see if anyone was already on the site that wanted to match up our book lists for some ideas and discussions.

I'm on Goodreads as well, with the same name as here, I think.  I also like LibraryThing.  But then I am a book geek and love all sorts of book sites.

I've been on goodreads for ages. I really enjoy it :)

I'm on goodreads, too, and I love seeing what my friends and family are reading.
If I had any clue, would I be here?

I would love to see what my friends and family are reading, but they sign up and never do anything.  I wonder at the number of people officially on Goodreads that have 1 book.

There's a Facebook app I use which does something similar.   It's easier because it's part of facebook.

Apparently there is a widget that allows you to link you goodreads with facebook and myspace type of places.

I use Shelfari.  I like the interface better than the one at GoodReads.

I was using visual Bookshelf but the interface and the advertising drove me away.  Goodreads interface is clunky, but I just got a ARC book from them, so I can deal with the interface for free reading material.  That is one of the reasons I stay with LibraryThing.
