Raethe makes an excellent point... We are aspiring writers, mere social steps above 'starving artists', and only because what we do creates tangible results during it's progress.
My friends held an intervention, to stop my ridiculous plans to take over the world (Jake ended up in the hospital). I convinced them to let me take over other worlds though.

Yeah, getting everyone in one place, what with work, school, uni, social lives, etc could be.... er.... madness?
To say nothing of different time zones and/or continents. And I'm sure there's someone from a different hemisphere here somewhere. There always is.

This is why I love this site. I go away for the weekend and now there is a wedding and plane tickets involved. Not only that but our ELC will get its chance to shine while the bride walks down the ilse and wonders why I have a neon sign over my head and her "husband to be doesn't".

You mean this kind of thing happens often?

And yes... timezones are annoying. Very much so!

Maybe forum/post-based is the best thing for it. It means a little waiting around, but a bit of suspense never killed anybody before.

This thread got really awkward really fast.   :-X

You are right about awkward. The thing is that tends to happen around here, especially when people are having fun. Once a thread is set up for critiquing then I think it will be a little more on topic.

Definitely.

Would it be worth having a 'general chit chat' thread? As opposed to taking over the Introductions board?  ???

Save things getting awkward?

Awkward? But weddings are lovely and wonderful!

::)

Eh, I don't really think it's an issue. As pointed out, everybody will probably stay more on topic when it comes to critiques. And as for this thread in particular, it's probaby kind of redundant to start a new one after like... four pages of nothing but us messing around.

Maybe once the moderation options become un-invisible for me and Chaos, I'll see if I can't split this thread where it starts to go astray. That at least would make more sense... Until then I wouldn't bother.

I wouldn't worry too much.  Thread hijacking happens quite often.  The next person to post their background will put it back on topic, and suddenly everything will be back to normal.

So, the question is this: Shall we go into the rp forum and start us a topic?
"The custom of royalty in referring to oneself is to naturally employ the royal 'we'.  We are very happy, we are very sad, we are bored and suffer from ennui.  For a royal prince there's no such word as 'me', It's always 'we'.  So rightfully I should be two or three, don't you agree?"

Anyways, it's done.  For all who are intrested, you can now start typing here:

Haha, nice. Maybe I'll take a few moments after I get back from class/D&D tonight.

Whoa, we're writing this in first person? that's a first.

Hee hee. This is going to be hilarious.

I was trying to decide between first and third, and decided that first would be nice at first.  If the masses put up an outcry, we can always switch to third person.
