Better names for hurricanes
« on: August 11, 2004, 06:26:18 AM »
Ok the seasons now in full swing, and soon everyone will start hearing about tropical storm Charline, or Hurricane Debbie. But lately Ive come to think that these names arent in keeping with the raw power of these storms.

So this is the thread to post new and terrifying names for hurricanes.

I think hurricane Devestator is a good way to start off.

oh, you know you're frightened of "Tropical Depression Phil"

which, y'know, sounds like an Englishman who was wrong about a vacation helping him feel more chipper.

I'd be tempted to wait for 4 hurricanes to happen simultenously and then call them Death, Famine, War and Disease.

That'd rule.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I have definitely heard of a a Hurricane Cyril. Apparently, they simply pick names going through the alphabet systematically. In whihc case, I'm just hanging on here in the hope that I'll one day hear of the untold destruction caused by Hurricane Terence.
