So I looked at Amazon.coms romance section.... wow even the titles are beyond smutty...

That's right, but you can't accuse them of being misleading.  Actually, of the books I own the worst ones have the tamest titles.

The Immortal Highlander

For eons Adam Black has aided humanity and meddled in its affairs, much to the chagrin of the queen of the Seelie Court. He has finally pushed her too far and finds himself, a once powerful Fae, invisible and very human. But he is still as resourceful as ever, and finds a way to reach the queen and plea to have his curse lifted with the help of a young lawyer, Gabrielle O'Callaghan, a human born with the ability to see his kind. As old enemies yearn to take advantage of his weakened state, threatening his life and all existence, Adam discovers that Gabrielle threatens a heart he never thought he had. RITA Award-winning Moning's fans may now rejoice that Adam, a reoccurring charmer from her previous novels, has his own story at last, and all readers who love humorous fantasy romance filled to the brim with fantasy-worthy Highlanders will find Moning's latest to be a sensuous treat. C.S. Friedman... female author.  Writes mostly scifi.  These books are so awesome.  I ran a DnD campaign with 42 and Prometheus using the magic system.

Actually can't stand vampire romances, which makes my quest harder since they're so popular.

Sidhe romances on the other hand....

this one sounds...

romancy...

Unraveled
To continue her father's life's quest, Tru Van Dye had to leave the insular colony of Majj scientists where she was raised. She had to find Rayce Coburne. Yet the virtual-reality program she acquired to gird herself against the man's touch, his innuendoes, his alien maleness was for naught--his presence overwhelmed her. With Rayce, all Tru's clever plans, her control, everything she knew was coming...

UNRAVELED

...that's how Rayce Coburne felt. He'd tried to give up treasure acquisition. It wasn't the danger that put him off; he despised dealing with icy customers like the Majj. And Tru Van Dye was worse than the usual-a prissy woman who would blackmail him with all his hopes and dreams. Still, while she was smarter than he, there was a way he could fight back: a kiss. A kiss a day was the perfect strategy. Unless the spinning he felt inside was Tru unwrapping his heart.

*Fishy sings at the top of her lungs in her most Glinda like voice

Whenever I see someone
Less fortunate than I
(And let's face it - who isn't
Less fortunate than I?)
My tender heart
Tends to start to bleed
And when someone needs a makeover
I simply have to take over
I know I know exactly what they need
And even in your case
Tho' it's the toughest case I've yet to face
Don't worry - I'm determined to succeed
Follow my lead
And yes, indeed
You will be:

Popular!
You're gonna be popular!
I'll teach you the proper ploys
When you talk to boys
Little ways to flirt and flounce
I'll show you what shoes to wear
How to fix your hair
Everything that really counts

To be popular
I'll help you be popular!
You'll hang with the right cohorts
You'll be good at sports
Know the slang you've got to know
So let's start
'Cause you've got an awfully long way to go:

Don't be offended by my frank analysis
Think of it as personality dialysis
Now that I've chosen to be come a pal, a
Sister and adviser
There's nobody wiser
Not when it comes to popular -
I know about popular
And with an assist from me
To be who you'll bee
Instead of dreary who-you-were: are:
There's nothing that can stop you
From becoming popu-
Ler: lar:

La la la la
We're gonna make
You popular

When I see depressing creatures
With unprepossessing features
I remind them on their own behalf
To think of
Celebrated heads of state or
Specially great communicators
Did they have brains or knowledge?
Don't make me laugh!

They were popular! Please -
It's all about popular!
It's not about aptitude
It's the way you're viewed
So it's very shrewd to be
Very very popular
Like me!

And though you protest
Your disinterest
I know clandestinely
You're gonna grin and bear it
Your new found popularity
La la la la
You'll be popular -
Just not as quite as popular
As me!
