BBQ & Rifftrax June 2008
« on: May 03, 2008, 06:31:08 PM »
I'm gonna host another one (last year's BBQ was an awesome success). I'm thinking June sometime, like the 6/7 or 13/14. Everyone brings their own BBQing item and a side-dish. I will provide drinks/plates/cups/etc.

We will be watching the Riff of Jurassic Park, which has Weird Al co-hosting as commentary. I saw a 30-second clip on the website and it's h.i.l.a.r.i.o.u.s. I'll have the DVD and riff (hopefully Tage can again bring his ipod and speakers again, that was so convenient). CtrlZed once suggested watching it outside. It would be possible, I have a big enough yard, but am not sure of everything I'd have to do to set that up. Anyone want to volunteer to take care of that if people want to do it?

Everyone is invited.

June 13/14 won't work for me, but the weekend before might. If we do it outside, keep in mind that we'll be starting the movie very late--possibly as late as 9, if we want it dark enough to get a good picture. I'm fine with that, but it would mean I leave my kids home (which is part of why I'm fine with it).

I also can't do the 13/14, but the weekend before or after would be fine. Personally I'd vote for the indoor movie. Outdoor can be fun, but the sound is always bad, you have to start really late, and then there are the bugs. I can definitely bring the ipod and ipod dock.

Ya, I agree there, Tage. It's gonna be indoors. I had to think about it some and decided it would be a hassle.

I've decided on June 7, firing up the BBQ at 6:30pm.

Kids are welcome.

7th at 6 pm is a great time.
