I'm fascinated by how good this movie looks, especially since I'm not interested in it at all.
If I had any clue, would I be here?

I've been salivating over this movie for months, and I'm delighted that it's apparently really good. I shall see it this weekend!

I was hoping this one would be as good as the trailers hinted. Maybe I'll see it this weekend too.

Oh, and I totally cracked up here:  "Stark instead builds a mechanized super suit and fights his way out. He then returns home to the land of the free and the home of the Whopper."
Lord Ruler and Lady Protractor were off on vacation, thus the angles running amok.

How safe is this movie, content-wise? How crude is it?

there is one moment of crudeness
you could extend it to the flirtation before hand, but the bed scene lasts all of 30 seconds, with no nudity.and no fart jokes.

Profanity was  very lean. To be honest, I don't remember any, but I tend to block it out unless it's a overblown. However, my wife, who is MUCH more sensitive to these things also remembers none. There's a lot of violence, but almost no blood, even in the operation scene.

On the whole, it's a very exciting film. The story, while predictable, really, was better than I was led to believe.  It's very loyal to the feel and ideas of the comic. The acting and directing is superb.

And stay to the end of the credits. There's a bit at the end that is as revealing as the ending of X3, but much better written and directed. Also, not as questionable or foggy.
(and it has Samuel L. Jackson in the role I wish had been presented earlier in the film).

As far as Marvel movies go, this is on part with the first two spideys and X-Men films. It's almost enough to make you forget F4, Elektra, AND Daredevil.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've had my interest piqued by this movie, but the commercials are a turnoff for Karen. Of course, there have been a number of TV advertising campaigns recently that made their movies look stupid and discouraged us from seeing them, such as Stardust (which we eventually saw and loved) and Enchanted (which we still haven't seen, but relatives we trust saw it and loved it).

I still need to see this movie. I'm glad it's being reviewed well.

bwahahah! "Hello, I'm D.C. And I'm Marvel." That rocked. I watched some of the others by the same guy. Quite amusing. I know it's sort of off topic, but I posted some others below (with my own titles because they were more descriptive)

I've also got one to contribute.  Something tells me that my friends and I might end up doing something similar in the future.
