Ah...is that a good thing? You want to work less hours per week? I guess I just don't see why that's the best thing about it. Personally, I now get paid by the hour, and I would prefer not to be.
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

It means if I have to work overtime I get *paid* for it.

I just got off the phone with the guy who will be my new boss, and I'm very pleased -- it's a job I will enjoy, working for the same company I'm with (so vacation and stuff transfers over), and they've offered me about 30% more money than I was previously making.

Hooray!
I got soul, but I'm not a soldier.

yay!

I just got back from AOL.
They don't want me for editing
They want me because I've done community building with AORP and TWG. Cool, eh? I never thought of that as a marketable skill.

anyway, we'll see what they offer.

Well, it sounds more interesting than what you're doing now. Perhaps they'll offer you more to live on. That'd be nice.

Yay! Finally! I have an interview for the Barnes and Noble at the Pru on Friday. It's not much, but now I'm not as worried about making ends meet as I had been, so I'm not as worried about getting the job. It would be nice for experience (my publishing teacher suggested I get some marketing/sales end experience), but I'm not dependent upon it for making the rent.

I had a pretty good job interview today that I'm not going to talk about until I find out if i have ANY chance at all of getting the job.  Needless to say if I got it, I would be psyched, but I'm pretty sure they're going to look over the applications and go "Oh, crap - you're Kauffman with two f's and one n.  We wanted the Megan Kaufmann with one f and two n's! You're not qualified for this job at ALL!"

And the moral of the story is: Give your kids interesting names so that this *never* happens to them.

Moral of the story: Give your kids genetic engineered DNA to make them so strong they kill bullies in one punch.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)
