I cannot choose my own PIN. And that's the root of the problem. I therefore get pins that I don't remember after they're assigned to me.

However, today, I only THOUGHT I didn't remember my PIN. turns out I had keyed it correctly. Several times. On multiple machines. But that doesn't mean that my check card actually WORKED for me. Thus I had to borrow money, and STILL miss my bus because of these twits, because my ATM PIN stopped working for no reason whatsoever.

Thus I will no longer bank with Chevy Chase, and I advise anyone who lives on the east coast to avoid them likewise.

The main reason for choosing them is that they were offering free checking w/ no min. balance at a time when no one else was (which is no longer the case in this market) and they have billions of ATMs all over the area (which is no longer a concern, since Wachovia offers a better free checking/no minimum balance account and is literally right next door to my office - I often walk right past it when I'm going to it because I don't expect it to be so close).

The bank is named after the town in MD which is named after the battle, btw. Though it IS funny to forget to add "bank" between chevychase and .com when going to their site, and to hear "I'm Chevy Chase!" come over the speakers.
