Huh.  It's hard for me to imagine a dream so realistic that you are bummed when you get out of it.  But that's just me.  And anyone else who always have lucid dreams, when they dream...

well, everyone is unique. You're not exactly like anyone else. HOwever, all these things that teenagers think isolates them and singles them out, most of that is common experience. Many other people have gone through it.

Think of it this way. There are over 6 billion people on the earth, RIGHT NOW (that means that if you're one in a million, there are more than 6000 of you). That doesn't include everyone that's died on the earth, which I would guess you could safely say is another 6 billion people or more.

Now, I don't think any 2 of those people have had exactly the same experience or problems. But when you're talking about 12 BILLION people, i find it impossilbe to believe that you've had an experience that is 100% unique and that hasn't been approximated in some way.

So last night I had this dream that I was still living with my roommates, Ashley, Sam, Steph, and we were taking a trip to Wal-Mart with a couple of guys from our ward, because I was going to make lasagana for everyone.

Anyway, for some reason this Wal-Mart was located in WaterWorld or something, because there was a huge harbor out in front of the checkstands that went way out to sea. And as I'm standing in line waiting to check out the checker is counting up his till so someone else can take his place. So I'm waiting, and suddenly in the water I see this huge tail come up out of the water.  "Oh my gosh!" I exclaim "It's a whale!!!  and it was.  It was a big humpback whale, and then it breached (it was a big harbor) and everyone dropped what they were doing and started to stare.  Then MORE whales showed up, and dolphins too, and they were all jumping up out of the water and swimming around everywhere.  We were all completely astonished,  and a bunch of us jumped into the water as well.

It was way cool.  Even if it was only a dream, seeing all those whales and dolphins at once was like the coolest  mental image ever.

Well, about half of the dream *was* wandering around the grocery store, but I didn't think you'd be interested in hearing, "And then I said to Sam, 'Does your mom use bay leaves in her lasagana sauce?' and Sam said she didn't, and I was like, 'Well, that's why mine tastes better',"

... and then Garfield showed up and ate BOTH lasagnas. And people laughed.

And that's how we know it wasn't real. The people laughing at Garfield.

I had a weird one last night, now you remind me. Actually, it turns out I've had a number of them, but I only remembered the old ones after having this one, which takes place in the same location. I remember only bits and pieces as usual, but it involved the second arcade in Brisbane city, the one with all the best games (It doesn't exist in real life, unfortunately). That's about all I can remember, but I;ve been to that place before, the whole street it's on. I could draw a map of it.

Am I the only one who feels like a part of me has been ripped out when I only partially remember a dream?

No, it's really frustrating to me, especially when I remember it upon waking and I think "oh I'll never forget something like that!" and so don't write it down, only to forget ten minutes later.

And Eric, are you *trying* to be a jerk by making fun of a dream that I posted in earnest because I thought it was really, really cool?  Because it's working.

I have to record dreams right away or I forget them.

and no fuzzy, I wasn't making fun of your dreams at all. I was making fun of a) Garfield, for not being funny in any way shape or form, and b) Spriggan, sort of, for choosing to focus on the most mundane part of the dream, which you had already edited out for interest. I didn't even really make fun of Spriggan, I carried on a joke that he was starting.

So I've been sick, as you know, and Saturday night I went to bed really early because I felt so bad. Well, Friday I had spent the day stapling and collating huge piles of papers, ALL DAY. About the most boring day I've ever had at work. And Saturday night what did I toss and turn and dream about? Stapling and collating. I DREAMT that I was sitting at my desk and repeatedly stapling and collating, stapling and collating. For the entire night. Thankfully, I woke up at 11 and was able to break into the dream for a few hours with a TV show. But it just started again when I went back to bed a few hours later...

I used to have those dreams about Chess and Tetris. I guess that probably says something about how I play Chess, since it's repetitive actions that get ingrained like that.

Talk about coincidence, I had a dream that I stayed up and played tetris all night last night... oh wait, that was real.  I need a hobby...

When i first started working in a supermarket i once had a dream where i lay in bed and thought i was on the tills. It was a horrible dream.

I was incredibly confused the next morning to boot. Couldn't work out whether i had worked it or not.
