Why in heaven's name would someone name a convention after the Bubonic plague?  Sheesh, talk about poor taste. What's next AIDSacon?

Actually,
It's more along the lines of fair warning. We average around 50 cases a year, and it had one fatality so far this year. It's been a problem here since the Spanish brought it in 400 years ago. Bubonacon is now in its 39th year of operation. And due to the large number of authors who live in New Mexico seems to get more than its fair share of participating guests. This year the guest of honor is Vernor Vinge. And on Saturday there is an event for all the Arch Villains to wear their high end costumes. Y'all are welcome,
