I would put Falcone in there too. Without him there'd be little motivation for the chicky and other dude. Plus Batman does begin his vigilatism by fighting crime, not crazy weirdos.

he's an insignificant challenge. All it takes is beating up a few of his guys and tying him up. the end. if all the "major villains" are taken care of that way, why do we even need Batman?

Ahh, but the Scarecrow was being finaced through Falcone and running his own business through him. Were he not doing that then there wouldn't be much of a connecting reference there. Now, saying he's a major villian is a bit much for me. He wasn't major, but he was important to the plot of the movie.

Right, well, I think your twisting some words here by adding "major" to the title of villian. We aren't saying he was a major villian, but instead just another villian that Batman had to overcome in his quest to make all better in the city of Gotham.

no, that's exactly what Fell is arguing -- that Falcone is in the same category of villain as Scarecrow. My point is that he's just another mook. He's not much more significant an obstacle as any nameless grunt.

But that's exactly what Spidey 3 is trying to do: three major obstacles: The Hobgoblin, Sandman, and Venom. It's more than the movie is going to be able to deal with, imo.

Well, I have a feeling Harry is just going to be more a fill-in and not too tightly woven into this one. I think he'll just be as tossed aside as he was in the first two. Not that that wasn't all lead-in to his Hobgoblining.

And I think in Batman Begins, you could compare Falcone to Kingpin, in that Falcone is Batman's Kingpin. I wouldn't say he's just another mook on the same level as any other bum criminal. He is a freaking crime lord for pete's sake. That's like saying Ben Grimm's just another member of the Fantastic Four, another silly, and at times emo, superhero. They've all got a little more meat to them than you're giving them credit for.

He's a crimelord who doesn't have any power whatsoever to do anything to impede Batman

Whereas the Kingpin can throw down with Spidey and Daredevil. The Falcone in that movie was just a mook.
