One more day of ALA. On one hand, I am looking forward to going home. On the other hand, Chicago is more home than Seattle, really, and it's been really nice being here. I don't wanna go! Plus, I have a houseful of unpacked boxes, and a mattress that needs to be disposed of, waiting for me at my apartment.

(Did I tell you guys about that? I got a free bed, but you get what you pay for. It's moldy and it's impossible for me to sleep on it, or even stand to have it in the house. I need to figure out how to get rid of it, now that I had my friend help me get it all the way to my house.)
I should have been taking notes of all the fun things that have been happening here. We went to eat at the Chicago Chop House for our staff dinner last night with Ed Greenwood. Nicey-nice. I had a very yummy prime rib, among a LOT of other things to eat. Thankfully, it was close enough to walk home, so we were able to walk a little of it off. I've been networking with writers, including Cecil Castelluci, who wrote the book
Boy Proof, which I reviewed for TWG a while back, about the geek girl who wanted to work in SF movie special effects. She signed my book "one of us!" because I was telling her about how you guys sometimes think I'm too normal.
