How to get writing ideas.

I think this college student's methods are less effective but the article does give some idea of how boring Des Moines, Iowa is. Also, he did get a measure of publicity from this stunt (I just question whether he got any story ideas).

has been contacted by New Line Cinema about a movie concept

By the sounds of it, this kid spent 41 hours basically being bored in a Walmart.  What kind of a movie could possibly be created by that?

It could make an *awesome* movie if they had a good screenwriter and a good director.  There could be chase scenes.  He could have a romantic sub-plot with a checker.

Man, I want to *write* that story now.  I wish I'd had that idea.

yeah, I'm still having a hard time getting excited about that. Maybe if it opened at hour 41 when he started hallucinating, that'd be good. but still.

If you are living in Des Moines, going to Walmart is one of the few exciting things to do. And people in Des Moine wondered why I wanted to move.

The student did amit that his experiment was a failure so I don't think that there will be a movie or anything other then a few news stories.

It's like the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, but with less Met.

(In Mixed Up Files, two kids run away from home to live in the Metropoliton Museum of Art. I REALLY wanted to do that when I was a kid.)

Pixel, you're wandering into resurrection zone. Others will start to get annoyed soon. Just an FYI. So far your comments are better than our average dead raiser, I'm just sayin'. S'all.
