Well, there's also one right here...

I read that article, and I'm sure that the intention was tongue-in-cheek as far as the list goes, or at least 3/4 tongue-in-cheek (I'd assume dependability actually is important on anyone's list). I'd never really say that A Single Thought really ever had a good editor--most of the articles are entirely too long and could be much more funny in half the space--but it was pretty much the only article addressing these issues out there written by LDS girls of a "certain age" (until it ended its run a couple months ago). I always felt the readership skewed to much older than 30 and usually divorced, though, when reading reader responses.

I have to agree with the sentiment of not needing someone to "take care" of me, because I can pretty much take care of myself and have been doing it for a while. What that article might not address (I didn't click the link and I'm going on memory) is that just because you don't need someone to take care of you doesn't mean you don't want a partner to be beside you as you both live your lives--and that might mean sometimes taking care of each other, but that's not the main focus. Equally yoked and all that.

So, Stacer, in twenty words or less: what makes you tick?   ;)

stacer:
Have you ever read my not-so-private-anymore personal LJ? I've said a few things about being single and thirty-something in the LDS church on it, though I don't think there's anything recent on there, and they might have been friends-locked. But you're welcome to browse and see if you find something that will help you. (norroway.livejournal etc)

House of Mustard:
Cool.  Thanks.

In a couple of weeks, when I'm getting more into this, do you mind if I email you a couple questions?  (I can't even think about it yet -- my wife said I'm not allowed to start working on the next project until all the marketing for Counterfeit is done.)
