I feel totally jipped because Helaman dies three chapters into the Book of Helaman.

I'm grumpy because I just googled "Elantris fanfic" and there were no matches. I was really really hoping for some bad fanfic to post on this board and annoy EUOL with.

Just a random thought; I figure you know your book is good if people are writing fanfic.

I'm annoyed because there are freshmen in my apartment using our kitchen for a dinner date (the cousin of my roommates, his roommate, and too overly giggly blondes). So I feel reduced to a guest in my own home--I'm hiding out in my room trying to get stuff accomplished. I guess I could be really snarky and go tell them to turn their absurdly loud music down, cook my own dinner in the middle of their date, and listen in and make obnoxious comments on their conversations. But then I would be probably labeled as an old shrew.

This is only one night. They'll be gone in an hour or so. I can handle this. But I am annoyed.

I'm grumpy because the grumpy thread is far longer than the happy thread.

I think people often post in sympathy or consolation on the grumpy thread, hence longer?

And random things like definitions of clothing items. My bad.

I'm grumpy because I needed to write like 3000 words today, and I didn't even make 2000.

And no, I don't want to write a bad Elantris fanfic.

Now on the other hand if he ever publishes Dragonsteel I may have to write some bad Dragonsteel fanfic.... under a carefully anonymous psuedonymn of course.

Something like, oh, Stet Cannister?

lol. I started reading Dragonsteel.  Note the "started." I didn't dislike it, per se. But I didn't get past the scene where the protagonist's "Tonto" figure dressed up as a woman... It struck me as odd that this huge dude would dress as the woman while the skinny jester fella dressed as the man. Huh. Anyway, by then I'd gotten a hold of an old hardcopy of ELANTRIS from EUOL, so Dragonsteel went back to the HBLL.  ;)

I'm grumpy because it's warmer in Anchorage, Alaska than it is in Arlington, VA at the moment.

48 hours ago it was too warm to wear a jacket. This morning it's below freezing. and with the wind chill it's around 15.

I'm in Montréal.   I put on thermals as a course of habit in the morning.
