I'm grumpy because I can't find the "These Stupid Titles" thread.  And because I've been a bored politician for like 6 months.  I'm bored of being bored!  Bring on the new title!

So there's good news and there's bad news, but in general overall grumpiness. I've replaced my power cord, so I can at least write, but that short in my power cord also shorted out my DVD/CD drive, which will cost $200 to replace. I already spent almost $100 to replace the power cord, so it seems dumb to not go ahead and fix it all, but the guy at the repair shop said that there's a chance the whole channel is fried, not just the drive.

Which means: I'm backing everything up tonight, the entire hard drive, not just the documents (thankfully the external hard drive still works). And I'm worried I may need an entirely new computer. If so, I'm screwed, because I don't have a dime. Which means no working from home, no freelancing, and no writing for me.

For now, the writing thing at least is working, as long as I don't have to access any CDs or burn anything.

I'm seriously considering doing one of those "please give me money!" websites. But I don't have anything interesting, like a bunny to have people make me not eat, to get people to give me money. :)

I just signed in to Dark Throne to bank my gold! Moreover, I found that someone had taken most of it! What bugs me about all this is that Dark Throne is the most boring game ever invented, and the only life after Dark Throne is that of a crippled accountant. WHY AM I PLAYING THAT GAME??!?!?!??!?!

Jeffe might be on to something...if people have websites devoted to pictures of cats in sinks, those same people may pay $ to keep Mogget from becoming some sort of Vietnamese cuisine.  ;)

(I use Vietnam because my dad always told us as kids that they eat cats there. He flew helicoptors over there in the war, so I'm sure he is an authority.  ::))

Bwaaahahaha! Yeah, I'll bet they freaked out. TB is a force to be reckoned with--and avoided. Sounds like you're well on your way to being good friends with Mrs. Malaprop! ;D

It was really funny, because after I explained it was bronchitis everyone had a good laugh and a couple of people admitted they wondered why I had come to class at all with highly contagious TB, especially since one of the girls in the class was pregnant.

That really would have been idiotic. But in my head it was bronchitis--symptoms and all (and I was already on the mend and no longer contagious)--I just said tuberculosis instead. Definitely an entertaining malapropism.  :)

Dark Throne is a freebie.  If someone wanted to write a review of it (www.darkthrone.com), it could go in Tower of Cheapness.

I'd write one, but I fear my ambivalence about the game would destroy me in attempting to rate it.

If only you could find a way to turn your ambivalence into a force for good rather than evil.

Or maybe you have, but just don't care enough to do it.

I'm grumpy because graduate applications suck.
