Hey, Chimera!!

(like the link to the interview with the Tor editor--that was good).

Hey! I don't know how often you check your PMs, so I thought I'd start this   new thread on here. See, I'm profiling Tor as a research project for my Book Publing Overview class, and I'm struggling to get more info. :-[ I had been researching the trends in fantasy adult trade fiction until just recently when our prof gave us the option of profiling a publisher. So I leaped on that idea and decided on Tor.

I've combed through Tor's website and downloaded their '06 catalogue from Holzbrinck yet I could really, really use more stuff to work with! (I emailed EUOL, too, about possibly e-interviewing him and/or Moshe, but the time crunch and other constraints might veto those possibilities).

Anyhow, I noticed that you mentioned some kinda interview that EUOL did with Moshe so I'm incredibly curious about it. I know about the EUOLogy he did about visiting Tor (http://www.brandonsanderson.com/article.php?id=2) but what you're talking about sounds like something else. If so, that'd make my day!

Would you be so awesome as to send me that link if you have it? Or if you know how I can get ahold of the link, I'd be super grateful to find out. Any other suggestions (from you or anyone who happens to read this) would be welcome as well. Thanks!!

I find that Tor's website is hard to navigate and sometimes not up to date. You'd do better talking with an editor. Why don't you just call them up and explain your project? Publishers are often really nice about interviews with grad students. I nearly got an interview from a cold call to Arthur Levine, but chickened out at the last minute. Even so, the EA who answered the phone gave me a lot of information that I needed for my project.

Really? Hmm, maybe I should give it a shot. Gotta work up the nerve, however. Aurthur Levine? Wow. Maybe I can at least shoot for talking to an EA. I can work on the questions some more this weekend and, if I've accumulated enough nerve, call on Monday. Thanks for the tip!!
Oh, and I agree about how Tor's site is rather outdated in many places. ugh.

Um...that editor wasn't Moshe, it was Patrick Nielsen Hayden. EUOL linked to an interview with him earlier this week on his website and I only mentioned it because I was checking out his story ideas and giving feedback on them. So, as far as I know, there is no interview between EUOL and Moshe.

And that was an interview between Patrick Neilsen Haydon and whoever was interviewing PNH, posted on PNH's website. Google PNH and you'll probably find it. Teresa Neilsen Haydon, his wife, also has a blog/website.

Hey, thanks. The problem was I didn't realize that the interview was with PNH and not Moshe. :P Oops. I found the link on bs.com after all, thanks. I googled PNH too and I think his site looks like it could give me some good stuff for my research. Thanks again--both of you!! :D
