MISTBORN Acknowledgments
« on: December 05, 2005, 04:57:24 PM »
If you think you deserve to be on the Acknowledgments page, let me know ASAP.  Copy Edit goes into Tor in under two weeks.

So far, I have:
Ben,
Eric,
Krista,
Micah,
Izzy,
Stacy,
And Peter.

Is there anyone else who read the first MISTBORN book and gave me feedback?  Also, those of you above, if I wrote your name incorrectly in ELANTRIS, let me know, since I'm using its page as a template.

Thanks.

Did I read the first Mistborn book? I think I read one version of it, but I don't remember.

I read the first first Mistborn book, back when it was completely different.  I don't think that counts.  (Especially since you've sent me the new version, and I've never commented.)

Brenna,

Did you read this version, or MISTBORN PRIME?  Did you read the one about Vin?

If so, did you read it electronically or on paper?  I don't have an email response from you about it.  However, you might have read an early draft on paper.  If so, I'd like to credit you, since those changes undoubtedly went into the book.

I still want a galley to proofread! :D So fixes can go in the first printing instead of the third! :D

Stacy,

Got it.  You're in now.

Peter,

I could send you this copy edit, I suppose.  I SHOULD have it done in time.  The problem is, I'd finish it in about a week.  I could mail it to you, but it has to be back to Tor by the 16th.  I just don't think we could get it back to them in time.  Maybe if I finish it by the 10th, send it to you by two-day priority, then give you money to send it to them by the same speed.  Still, that would only give you about two days to read through the entire book.

Doesn't look like we have enough time.

I also read the doesn't-count version that Mustard read. I think we should be mentioned somewhere, preferably in blinking letters.

I'm not sure which one I read. I did read about Vin. Is that this version? I read it on paper, though. The only one I've read electronically is the Dark One (which I'll hopefully be sending you comments on in the next little while).

Hey, you forgot me... Gee, and I've even still got all those (neatly typed!) comments I gave you, too. *sigh*

Edit: Hmm, I just realized that my ranking as "Betrayed Overlord" seems woefully poignant at the moment...

I've also read and commented on Mistborn.

I also read the earlier version, but didn't finish it.

The second version was much better, though I had some questions about Allomancy.

Thanks. I think you'd said it was in the wrong folder before, so I figured that must have been what happened. It's not a big deal anyway, but it's kinda fun. An author of mine put me in the acknowledgements in his recent book, which actually just came to my office last week and will be in stores in January, which will be my first edit beginning to end (I edited other books out in print, but had taken them over in various stages of finishing). It's just fun to know you're a part of it in some way, and it feels nice when you see that.

I did not comment, but I have a big fat paper copy here that was read and commented on by:

Kristy Kugler
Megan Kauffman
Charisa Player
Sarah Bylund
and
Jillena O'Brien

before you gave it to me.

Oh, and Micah, but you got him.

So I'm guessing they all deserve credit.

Aha!  I wondered where that physical copy went.  Thanks, Fish.
