I had a good time at Nasfic, but enjoyed the programming of World Fantasy better.

Well, World Fantasy is definitely a great convention. When is it next year?

[EDIT: I was too lazy to go to the website.]

All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

Isn't it always in October around Halloween time?

You're just jealous because Eric knows everything writing-related that's worth knowing.

Eric knows that the web page for the World Fantasy Convention is http://www.worldfantasy.org.  Eric also knows how to cut and paste.

Nasfic will apparently be in St. Louis.  Both of those would require plane tickets.  Which would require money.

Meet me in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the con.
Don't tell me that sci-fi fandom
Won't stay up till dawn.
We can tease convention rookies,
And we'll see some tipsy wookies
If you will meet me in St. Louis, Louis,
Meet me at the con.

John Scalzi just offered to give a free e-copy of Old Man's War to anyone who has a valid Worldcon registration number.  I'm thinking of checking it out--pretty much everyone agrees that it's a really sharp book.  Anyway, you can email him for a copy if you're going to the con.

I'm just getting it from the library. Not in the mood for an e-book (unless you send me Hero of Ages!).

This time I'm going to try to actually read all the Hugo-nominated books, since there's no Bujold book to default vote for. :) I may try for the short fiction if it gets put online as has been done in the past.

Ditto. EUOL, I'm all for getting an e-copy of HERO once you start sending it alpha readers. I'd be returning with feedback, as promised! ;D
