How did you get involved in this, Brandon? Did you enter something to the contest?
All Saiyuki fans should check out Dazzle! Emotionally wrenching action-adventure and quirky humor! (At least read chapter 6 and tell me if you're not hooked.) Volume 10 out now!

Nope.  They just wanted someone to give their speech, and I somehow made the list and was the one they eventually decided to invite.  Cool, eh?

Hrm. This isn't UPC as in the little scannable codes on boxes is it? Is it some sort of  Unidentified Planetary Conference?

/me checks bs.com for explanation.

Meh, that's not much help. Hey, you get to go to SPAIN! Just to give a speech?!

/me googles it.

Results: www.upc.edu/english/sciencefiction/Rules.html(I still don't know what it stands for. Pearson's firewall must be blocking me out for some reason. bah)

Is this an English-speaking conference or will you have a translator?

EUOL's hometeacher has been teaching him Spanish so he'll probably just give the speech in their language.

ah ha! I knew home teachers were good for something--if they actually come around, that is. ;)

Oh, and the link finally worked....

Catopoly? Who in their right mind would want to play a cat-themed Monopoly? Sounds lame-o to me.

Is that worse than a calorie-themed Monopoly?

What are you talking about? A calorie themed monopoly would be *awsome*.

I looked at their contest rules.  Sounds interesting.  The sponsors aren't publishing any of the Spanish versions of Brandon's books, are they?
