Yup. Yay! 2000 Honda CR-V. Pretty good deal on it, too--I got a private party price from a dealer, and a 60 day power train warranty to boot.

That's wonderful! A Merry Christmas indeed! :D I was just going to ask if you'd found something new. I'm glad you've got reliable transportation. I know how "uplifting" it can be to know you won't be broken down on the freeway at any given moment.

Well I got to go shopping with my mom and sister today and we all had a great time and no one fought or insulted each other. It was fabulous.  My corset pattern came in the mail today and now I have two to choose from and the fabric so I can start on the mock up before I order the hardware with my Christmas money.  Yay.

That sounds quite fun. What's the ocassion you'll be making the costume for?

As for me, I'm very, very happy because I got a free 30-day pass to 24-Hour Fitness at Meier & Frank for spending $50 on stuff I already needed! Yay! Before I moved to Boston, 24-Hour was my gym. Used to go every day. So it's cool to go back there and work out for free until I go back to MA.

In fact, I worked out today for the first time in . . . well, too long. But I wasn't as wimpy as I thought I'd be after not working out for a while. Hurray!! The elliptical rules.  Unfortunately, I -do- have a few pounds of holiday heft to work off. *sigh* At least I'm getting an early start on my New Year's Resolutions, though...

I'm happy that I beat my nephew in Quidditch. Thank goodness for virtual sports with off rules where a guy like me actually has a chance of winning.

Virtual? Man, I was having such fun imagining you and some little kid running around on broomsticks throwing balls at each other. Why'd you have to go burst my entertaining image?  ;)

Just to burst it some more, my nephew isn't little. He's 13 years old and 5 foot 8 inches tall, which I believe is taller than a number of people that come to this board.

Well, well, my old boss (a prof at BYU) offered me a small job to do while I'm around. Yay! Now I'll have some gas money for the drive back to Boston. :D

There's a down side, though. This involves actually -working- while I'm on my holiday/school break. Rats.

But it won't be too irksome. Just messing around in Powerpoint to make a presentation on some ethnic lit that she'll present in class and at some other universities. Let's just hope my Powerpt skills aren't -too- rusty...

I'm happy that "Lost" is so darn good, especially after all the time I spent resisting watching it because deep down I hate going along with the cool trends.

"Lost" has robbed me of many hours in the past couple of days. But I'm happy I got a lot of hours of DVD goodness to watch at the moment.

I just really hope they get around to explaining why the two Korean people spend so much time speaking Japanese.

And I hope it's a better reason than "ah, the stupid American viewers will never notice."
