Free legal mp3s
« on: May 02, 2005, 11:00:07 AM »
I'm starting up this tread as a place for people to post legal free mp3s on the net.

RULES OF THE THREAD:

1) No posting illegal MP3s!  If one is found that post will either be edited or delated.  You've been warned people. No exceptions.

2) Keep chatter down to a minamum.  This should be a place to easly find MP3s with out haveing to sort through pages of talking.

Amazon!

Tons of legal free music here, though most of it is a few years old.

There is no such thing as FREE anymore.

Possibly shared, but never FREE!

Some ookla mp3s, including the entire first album ("tape") recorded in their basement or whatever, and 3 song versions not available on any CDs.

This afternoon Jeffe pointed me to the Internet Archive where there's a lot of legal free stuff. Including a pile of Grateful Dead concerts.

Here's some Brianiac mp3s

http://www.epitonic.com/artists/brainiac.html

Epitonic is full of all legal mp3s.  Not all bands you've never heard of either.

For example, here's a bunch of Death Cab for Cutie.

And that's supposed to be an example of a band I've not never heard of?

Hey, it's not my fault if you've never heard of the kinds of bands I think you've not never heard of.

It's not that you don't not have anything we already haven't had the chance to fully understand as well as we wish we weren't doing something that awful or so unuseful that hasn't given us the knowledge to not do what we aren't going to do not.

How... many, is that... I sort of lost myself after haven't...

Gemm, you don't not havn't got no wrong idea about not never using none of no incorrect negative words that aren't not never used in no sentance, because if you didn't not never understand no ideas, then you wouldn't not never not be unable to beat me in no contest to not never understand this unsentance.

My sister (she's actually very good.  Her album, which should hopefully come out very soon, will have four tracks featuring the Prague orchestra):

EDIT (to reduce space, see below):
A lot of her best stuff isn't there, but I'd agree with Chimera - Decide is extremely good.

She's doing a new version of it on her upcoming album, and that's one of the tracks that will feature the Prague orchestra.  Sam Cardon's been helping her out with this, and I'll be very interested in hearing how it comes out.

Thanks for the link, JadeKnight. I downloaded her songs. She's pretty good--I think I liked "Decide" the best.
