NaNoWriMo Followup
« on: February 06, 2004, 03:24:32 PM »
So, Sprig's thread reminded me that I wanted to start a topic now, several months after the big event, to see how people are doing.

How's the writing coming?  Did you finish your NaNoWriMo piece?  Have you edited it?  And, if so, where are you going to send it?

I finished the 50k words, then promptly ignored it for a month and a half except on Wednesday nights. Which was a Bad Thing. I know. But I just finished a complete outline, and I'm thinking the rough draft can be finished in two months (I hope). Then editing. THen shopping around at WorldCon, where I will go with you, EUOL, and hopefully gain some valuable networking advice.

I did 30K and left it.  30K was a remarkable achievement for me, all things considered.  I intend to take it up again, but I don't know when.  Sometime soon.  I think it's fourth in line as far as projects are concerned, and two of those are nearly finished.

30k is nothing to sneeze at. That means you're averaging 1000 words a day. that's a good pae for something you don't do full time.

I'd bewilling to do another NaNoWriMo if I could continue my project and my wifey agrees. I'll have to talk to her.

I haven't had much time to write anything since November, because I haven't had much time to do anything since November, but life is slowing down now and I've started to get back into it. If anyone has actually read my book all the way through (a thing very few readers have done, I'm learning) please tell me what you think.

You should really do a 'NaNoWriMo Fix-it month' where you dedicate yourselves to actually finishing the books you started.

well, it's going to take me two to finish the rough draft, then I'm thinking at LEAST two to do ONE proper edit. I'm not expecting to be surprised if it takes more than one edit to make it satisfactory.

Fell, I have read it all. I like. I keep waiting for you to return to our online writing group to finish the discussions. I mean, when WILL you be back?

I've missed so many weeks I figured I was out of the loop by now. I can try to come back.

well, all you need to do is catch up on Peks. Shouldn't be that hard. You've read the first 3 chapters I think. we're only on chapter 6 (we moved really slowly, we don't often have enough people there for me to feel it's worthwhile, so I would like to have you there)
