Upcoming releases
« on: December 31, 2002, 02:32:55 AM »
So what upcoming movies are we all getting psyched for?  Personally I can't wait for X2 (the new X-Men movie) coming out on May 2nd with Nightcrawler!  I also have high hopes for the Hulk film.  The Daredevil one I have serious reservations about, but I am willing to wait until I see it before I pass judgement.

I am somewhat less impressed with the idea of a third Terminator film.  Arnold is getting too old to do this sort of stuff.  He needs to forge new ground rather than recycling his past success.

Call me a freaky weirdo, but I'm pleased to have seen a trailer for a Charlie's Angels sequel. I just watched the first over the weekend, and it was a fun bit of campy action comedy that worked really well.

I don't know much about it, but what little I've seen of Bulletproof Monk looks promising.

Bulletproof Monk will star the official "Baddest Man on the Planet," Chow Yun Fat as an immortal wanderer.  I think that Jessica Alba is also supposed to appear.  It is based on a Dark Horse comic book of the same title that I have never actually read, but I just might be tempted to pick up an issue or two now

I haven't heard about Bulletproof Monk...might have to check that one out.

I saw a preview for Quentin Tarrantino's (sp) Kill Bill this weekend and I got really excieted.  I don't know if Uma Thurman can pull of an action hero but I'll pay good money to see it.  I've always enjoyed QT's writing and as he's such a huge fan of Hong Kong action I have a good feeling he'll do it right.

Then again, I'm one of the few people who really liked From Dusk Till Dawn...

Daredevil also looks promising.  I'm looking forward to teh Matrix 2 also.

And let's not forget the third Conan film with pro-wrassler HHH as Conan's son.  The mind boggles.

I thought The Rock was the one who was doing that. Has it switched?

From what I hear they thought HHH made a more credible Conan-type, plus he came with a cheaper price tag.  At this point, though, the whole movie might just be a rumor.

from what i understand is that arnold is in for the third connan, but it focuses on his son.  So he's going to be more a supporting character.  I heard the Rock was first in line for that part.  Manly because Arnold wanted him in the movie.  I think i read that in EW or something like that.
Screw it, I'm buying crayons and paper. I can imagineer my own adventures! Wheeee!

I had heard both rumors re: the Rock and HHH.  I just gave up trying to determine who to believe, and figured I would just find out when the press release became official.

If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

If they need a big, muscular, masculine, nasty looking looking wrestler to play Conan's son, then Chyna should fit the bill perfectly.

Oh come ON!  It's been forever since there's been a good Chyna burn.

Slant has a point.  There is nobody more muscle-bound and manly than "The 9th Wonder of the World".

Well I feel uncultured, I don't even know who Chyna IS.

Chyna was a female member of the WWF, back when it was still called the WWF (now the WWE) who had more muscle on her than some of the male wrestlers, and had way too manly of a figure for any woman.  She stopped doing wrestling when she, allegedly, broke her neck and had to recover.  She fought Joey Buttafuuuucoooo (purpusefully spelled wrong) in a celebrity boxing match a while ago.  I will see if I can find a website that has a picture of her on it that way you can have visual proof of why she was called "The 9th Wonder of the World."

uh, that's okay, I think ignorance is bliss in this case.
