Bond.  James Bond.
« on: July 28, 2004, 03:24:34 PM »
CNN reports that Pierce Brosnon is done with the series (though it may be a salary negotiating ploy).  However, it lists the following actors as possible future Bonds:

Quote
Speculation surrounds Brits Clive Owen, Ioan Gruffudd, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Gerard Butler, Jude Law and Ewan McGregor, as well as Aussies Hugh Jackman, Heath Ledger and Eric Bana.

Hugh Grant is one of my favorite actors, but I cannot imagine him as James Bond.

I think Jude Law would make an awesome Bond, but he'd have to bulk up a little. Not that Brosnan was all that muscle-y.

Ioan Gruffud, by the way, is playing Richard Reed in next year's Fantastic Four Movie. That's more or less all I know about him.

It would be awesome if James Bond had had stretchy arms like Mr. Fantastic.  That'd be sweet.

Has Colin Firth ever done anything remotely action-related?

Orlando bloom got signed up to do a movie based on a young James Bond.
If you're ever in an argument and Entropy winds up looking staid and temperate in comparison, it might be time to cut your losses and start a new thread about something else :)

I think Clive Owen has been officially tapped as the new Bond.  I can't confirm this, though, but I am relatively certain.
