ACK! I hope the STUDIO isn't thinking about anyone that he's been mentioning. They all just make me feel.. icky. Does that guy know what he's talking about? "Amazon" in the context of greek myth and WOnder Woman does NOT mean Latin American.

Except that Morena Baccarin.. .but I'm having a hard time making the leap that a greek goddess would make a child who had black skin.

Maybe we can find someone NEW?

Hopefully, the studio has more sense than some guy who can write an MSN article and list off a bunch of famous actresses.

Morena Baccarin has very light skin,... she'd actually be the perfect body type and coloring for the role. http://www.morena-baccarin.com/modelingpages/modeling2.html
Im just worried that shed be too frail for the role. I dont have a problem with a wonder woman of any color,.. and frankly a darker skinned wonder woman would be kind of cool. But quit with the latin stuff... Jessica Alba has enough work, oh and also dont bring back Grace Jones.

ok, I haven't seen many pictures of her, but from that shot, yeah, maybe she can pull it off. A minority Wonder Woman would be cool for a lot of reasons, but it would require a major rewrite of the origin to be believable.

That picture looks like the space hooker from Firefly, and I'm too lazy to look her up. Is it the same person?

Okay, I actually read the article and yes, it's the same person. I find it very amusing, however, that the writer has no clue that the Amazons of greek myth are unrelated to the Amazon jungle--that's such a glaring, stupid blunder that you'd think it came out of a sitcom rather than a real person. Like how they used to make Star Wars jokes during the Reagan Administration.

I know she was in Firefly (from the article,) but I don't know about any space hookers (I've never seen the show myself.)

Yep, she was a space hooker,... but doest that really matter? Her inclusion as Wonder Woman prolly depends on the Success of the Firefly movie...
She is however hot, so I foresee big things from her.

The question I was wanting to ask was how major a change would it be to have a colored Wonder Woman. Greek gods and Goddesses have all sorts of power and since greece was a fairly worldly culture I could actually see a colored wonder woman. It just has to be done in a matter of fact kind of way to work.

Greek was a worldly culture, but the greek gods were all greek. I don't object to colored skin by any means, but casting someone who could never pass as greek in the role of a greek goddess seems a little over the top. I was similarly bothered that the guys wife in "Beautiful Mind" was white instead of latin--just do it the way it's supposed to be, guys.

Besides, the fact that this whole question came up because some doof on MSN doesn't know what an Amazon is has poisoned my mind on the subject altogether.

This Morena Baccarin could easily pass for a Greek, I think.

And yeah, I didn't even realize that the guy thought Amazon = South America.  I hope someone pointed that out to him, and that he's feeling pretty stupid.

The only problem with Jessica Alba as Wonder Woman would be that Wonder Woman was not a moron.  And was actually athletic rather than just 18.
