I'm getting pretty good at Sprigganese, but I'm going to have to ask you to rephrase that one for me.

Nothing (no thread, howsoever old it may be) dies, does it, with newbs around? Behold a thread from 2003. Oy!

Lord Ruler and Lady Protractor were off on vacation, thus the angles running amok.

2002 actually, plus he posted 4 times in a row.  Not cool GLE, keep this up and you'll probably have a very unfriendly time at TWG.

/me beats this thing with a RPG, opens its mouth and fires the round into it, then throws the dead carcass off a cliff.

There, that should do it.

or I could lock it. GLE, I'm going to recommend hitting the FAQ and formally introducing yourself

a couple tips that you have missed. Please take this as very friendly, it's just an FYI so you understand the culture here:

- the Rants section doesn't mean "post anything at all that no one really wants to read just so you can level up" Trust me, you don't need to do that if you can respond thoughtfully. I do no "bump up" posts and I have more posts than the 2nd and 3rd most frequent posters *combined*
-Don't post anything mindless. Please have content in it that someone wants to read. We're into wasting time here, but we're into doing it in an entertaining way.
-Don't resurrect old threads. If it's a topic where discussion had paused, but now there's a new development, that's one thing. However, a 4 year old thread about a forum title hardly warrants such a move.
-especially don't resurrect an old thread just to post something mindless.
-don't "double post." That is, post something then immediately post to the same thread again. If you just forgot to add something, there's a handy "modify" link in each post that you can use. If it's been a while since your other post (say a day or so) feel free to add a new post with more content instead of modifying the old, however.

Most of the rest of the ettiquette should be in the FAQ linked above
